What's old is new again.

This staircase transformation features a custom stair runner fabricated from our Equinox design in Denim, this hand-tufted loop pile carpet is crafted from 100% pure New Zealand wool. The rich blue tones bring warmth, texture, and timeless style to every step.

The renovation included stripping and refinishing the original stairs, installing new stair treads, and refreshing the walls with a fresh coat of paint. The result is a beautifully renewed space, where a custom runner serves as the perfect finishing touch. We can't get enough of a great before-and-after transformation.

1973 – Record-breaking order: the Contract Custom Carpeting Division produces 24 tons of custom carpeting for the iconic Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix—its largest order to date.⁠

1974 – Walter West made history as the first non-Couri family member to lead Couristan, serving as acting president. Over his remarkable 46-year tenure, he spearheaded a transformative era of innovation, product development, and brand evolution. Under his leadership, Couristan broadened its distribution channels and helped bring the floor covering industry into the mainstream. Even after his retirement in 1996, “Mr. West” remained a revered figure among Couristan employees, celebrated for his enduring impact and visionary leadership.⁠
