Taking the sides in on a wedding gown today.

This is pretty neat in my opinion. I give a lot of warnings to brides about heavy veils because I’ve seen them fall out at weddings.

“Can you add a slit?”

Most of the time, yes we can.

I’ve seen some requests for this in here and I know it’s a growing trend right now. We can move the lace from the original hem to the new hem. For this one we decided to keep the lace on the train. It will be used for a bridal robe that we are making.

If you’re looking for something like this, it’s good to get a head start. We don’t always have time for projects like this in the middle of bridal & prom season.

Also, because I like people to be aware of the cost of things, this specific project was $286. If we have to remove and re-apply lace to the hem you’re looking at closer to $400.

Mom’s wedding gown transformation. More pieces will be made with the fabric that was removed from this gown. Look for videos of those in the future!

We’ve been making a lot of sleeves and sleeve drapes over the last year and I’m really digging these ones Erica has been working on. She had to hand sew that beaded appliqué to the tulle before sewing the layers together and attaching them to the dress.

Throwback to me doing a crazy project and forgetting to take photos of the finished product. 🤦🏼‍♀️ This bride wanted a lace layer added to her whole dress. I had to completely disassemble it, use the pieces as a pattern, and then reassemble with the new layer. It turned out amazing but you’ll just have to trust me. 😂
