Apparently today is World Entrepreneurs’ Day… and that one made me stop for a minute. ❤️

I don’t always think of myself as an “entrepreneur.” I’m usually just thinking about the next client, the next project, the next vintage treasure… and probably the next 47 things on my to-do list. 😂

But when I look back, I’m incredibly grateful for the life I’ve been able to build.

🏡 A real estate career that allows me to help people through some of the biggest transitions of their lives.

🪴 Heirloom & Co., where I get to indulge my love of vintage pieces, giving old things new life, and supporting a wonderful local small-business community.

And somewhere in between all of that… continuing to dream, create, learn, take chances, and figure things out as I go.

Entrepreneurship isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s exciting, sometimes it’s scary, sometimes you wonder what in the world you were thinking. 😂 But there’s something pretty special about building a life around things you genuinely love.

Today I’m just grateful—for every client who has trusted me, every person who has supported one of my crazy ideas, every small business that has encouraged another, and every door God has opened along the way. ❤️

Here’s to everyone out there building something of their own—big or small. Keep going. You never know where one little idea might lead. ✨

Since becoming part of the vintage and thrifting community, I’ve realized that one of my favorite things about it isn’t just finding beautiful old pieces—it’s giving them another chance. ❤️

Rehoming. Restoring. Repurposing. Saving something from a landfill because, with a little love, it might have another whole life ahead of it.

And this $4 Goodwill find reminded me exactly why I love it so much.

I spotted this HUGE, bright, hand-crocheted vintage afghan and immediately thought about the person who must have spent hours and hours creating it. Row after row. Color after color. Someone made this with their own two hands.

There was just one problem...

It had several holes. 😩

And I do not know how to crochet. At all. 😂

So there I stood in the Goodwill checkout line, inspecting the damage and trying to convince myself I could somehow figure it out, when the sweetest elderly woman noticed what I was doing and asked if she could help.

I told her I loved the afghan and wanted to save it, but I had absolutely ZERO idea how to crochet.

She looked it over and gave me the simplest little idea for repairing the holes—something I never would have thought of myself.

That was all the encouragement I needed.

I happily paid my $4, went straight to the Dollar Store for yarn, brought this beauty home, gave it a thorough wash...and got to work.

Was I a little nervous cutting, tying and repairing something that someone had spent countless hours making? Absolutely. 😂

But I kept going.

And when I finally sat back and looked at what I had done, I was ridiculously proud of myself.

Is it perfect? Nope.

But neither was it when I found it.

And maybe that’s the best part. ❤️

An old afghan that someone else might have passed over because of a few holes now gets another life—and along the way, a kind stranger taught me something new.

It was also a little reminder I apparently needed:

We are capable of so much more than we think we are. Sometimes we just have to be willing to try.

Not bad for a $4 Goodwill find. 🥰

Now this beautiful old afghan gets to keep telling its story instead of ending up in a landfill—and I think that’s pretty darn special. ❤️

One of the greatest blessings of what I do is that it's never just about houses, vintage treasures, or businesses...

It's about people. 💕
