IT’S THE SEASON FOR FAIR TRADE! Why? Fall begins the holiday season – the time for gathering, celebrating, decorating, sharing gratitude, and gifting! A purchase from Ten Thousand Villages ticks all the boxes. In addition to exquisitely hand-made tableware and decor items, each gift is actually two gifts in one – a present for a delighted recipient, plus dignity and opportunity for the artisans who are fairly paid to make it!
Ornaments for yourself and your home represent diverse cultures around the globe!
The delightful albesia wood Tangled Up Cat Ornament is hand-carved and hand-painted by Indonesian artisans with artisan partner Mitra Bali. The Lapis Tree Drop Earrings are studded with small lapis stones on twisted brass wire by artisans with Asha Handicrafts from India, which has promoted the social and economic development of artisans throughout India for more than 40 years.
The Peace Dove ornament also comes from India, crafted by Noah’s Ark. The Ica Drop earrings, hand-crafted from copper, bronze, and gold-plated silver are made by Allpa in Peru, and are simple enough for every day, yet unique enough to make a statement.
WHERE can you find our fair trade treasures? We’re open every day at the Painted Tree Boutique, 1113 Murfreesboro Rd. in Franklin. And we’re planning some HOLIDAY POP-UPS!
