The first day of fall feels like the perfect time to share this fun custom project from last month! When Brooke Brace said, can you recreate my kids backpack? I said yes- knowing I'd figure it out, but not entirely sure how it would happen. It happened even better than I expected! It stretched my sewing brain a bit, but it all came together so nicely.... It made me start thinking I should be making full size backpacks with my own prints! (An idea tucked away for future Rachel)
When she said she'd like a fox on it, I said, would you wanna draw the fox? So it became a fun collaboration project, her drawing the fox (go check out her art!) and transferring to the block, printing the fabric and making the bag.
So if you have a custom project that might be up my alley... Ask! You might end up inspiring my idea factory 💡

I was scrolling through photos today with Laura The Copper Twig (pro tip to doing art shows is arranging yourself with vendor buddies as neighbors) and saw this one and said, look it's that print- on that bag there. It's fun to remember, to see the beginnings of a new block print, first hand drawn, traced, transferred to the linoleum block, carved, and finally printed-and then sewn into a bag.

I'll be back at Wild Winds Folk Art & Craft Festival tomorrow, Sunday September 13th! After that, Applefest in Franklin, PA on October 2nd - 4th!

I'm at Wild Winds Folk Art & Craft Festival this weekend, September 12th & 13th! Find me and a bunch of vendor friends at Warren County Fairgrounds in Pittsfield, PA from 10 AM-5 PM.

There's always at least a few things that haven't been listed on the website yet that come with me to a show, but right now there's quite a backlog of things- I'm due for a big online shop update this fall. But in the meantime, you can shop in person and go home with your favorite this weekend!

A sneak peek of one of several tote bags I'm finishing up in time for Wild Winds Folk Art & Craft Festival this weekend- Saturday & Sunday, September 12th & 13th!

These groovy flowers have had a journey getting into the world- I started the block last summer, and then wasn't sure how I'd end up using it. A few months ago layering color behind the black line work popped in my brain as an aha! moment, and I have been loving how it layers with gradient colors in this first batch, and can't wait to get to playing with other colors in my next printing session!

Daydreaming of how I'm going to (finally) print these groovy flowers I finished carving while I was at shows last summer. Since then, I've printed with it a time or two on t-shirts, always thinking about ways I could layer it but unsure of how I wanted the end result. Today, a light bulb 💡 moment happened, and (I think!!) I know how it's going to go on canvas.
