I’ve staged this photo over and over, because getting things perfect always makes things better, right? Only this time things will never be better. It is with devastating sadness that I share the news that I lost the love of my life last week. Michael was my partner in everything and my world for 32 years. If you had the privilege of knowing him, you know that he was deeply private and mostly stayed behind the scenes of the shop, yet he was ever present in every part of it. That being said, I need my work and the shop to be both my escape and my sanctuary right now. While I’d love nothing more then to share fond memories of him, please don’t expect me to oblige while I’m there. This also means that the shop will not be going back to the 7 days a week opening that I’d proclaimed and hours will likely be a bit erratic for a short time as see how I feel from day to day. Thank you for your love and understanding. As Mike once said, the store is so much more then just selling merchandise, it’s about creating happiness.
