Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth at Autumn Drive! It was a beautiful weekend, and I loved our location. I'm rushing to remake a few things that sold out, and then it's on to South High School this weekend. Hopefully I'll see a lot of familiar faces! 🐧

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted, but here we are! The Funky Penguin will be at three craft shows this year, the first one just a few days away! The booth has changed quite a bit since we started crocheting, but we still have a lot of the old favorites. Can't wait to see familiar faces and meet new ones!

October 18-20: Autumn Drive in Woodstock, stop #7 Windy Pines (17917 Garden Valley Road).
October 26-27: A Country Christmas at Crystal Lake South High School.
November 23: Christmas in the Country at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crystal Lake.

First craft show of the year is just ONE WEEK AWAY! It seems like I was just posting that we'd been accepted! So if you're in the McHenry County area October 28 or 29, stop by South High School and check out some great crafters. I'm flying solo since the mini penguin is at school, but I'm hoping to see some familiar faces!

We just got notified that we've been accepted into A Country Christmas Arts & Craft Show at South High School in Crystal Lake!! This will be only our second show since Covid started, and we're so excited to get back out there! The show is October 28 and 29. We'll post new projects and more reminders as the show gets closer. 🐧

We have some exciting news here at The Funky Penguin. We're becoming bicrafty! (translation: we're learning to crochet) It's only been a few weeks, so we know the basic stitches and can make great wash cloths and headbands. But as we continue to learn, look for crocheted items added to the knit ones in our stock! We'll share pictures as we learn and make more things. Stay tuned! 🐧

As promised, here are the new items we worked on in January. We've decided to reduce the amount of baby items offered, though they will still be available for custom orders. That leaves a lot of room to fill at craft shows! We decided to focus on filling the space with non-wearable items. What do you think?

Happy New Year!! We hope you're all staying well and enjoying some family time over the holidays. The Funky Penguin will be spending most of January creating prototypes for new items we're considering including at shows and on Etsy. While we have a list of some great ideas, is there anything new or different you'd like to see from The Funky Penguin? We welcome all suggestions, since that's where a lot of our favorites originated. Please comment with any ideas you have, and we'll see if it's something we can do. 🐧
