Photography has definitely been on the back burner the last couple years as I pursue other avenues, but it doesn't mean I don't get giddy when I am asked to do a Senior shoot for a favorite family of mine. It doesn't hurt that that I LOVE Senior sessions, I've been photographing her family annually for the past 7-ish years, I did her brother's Senior pics, and the weather/lighting was PERFECTION! It was so much fun that as soon as I got home, I immediately sat down to edit some of my favorites, before the week's other must-do's took hold.

I look at this family and see my childhood. They lived down the street and I've known them since I moved to Texas almost 30 years ago. The brunette on the left was one of my VERY first friends, and she remains someone that I consider one of the BEST humans I've ever known (her husband is pretty awesome as well). Her sister is basically an extension of my youngest sister, therefore, part of me. I love this family and love that I was able to be part of capturing them so many years later.

Some shoots hold a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons, and this was one of them. I've known this new dad since I was younger than my youngest daughter. He has been at all 5 of the Finkel weddings (myself and my siblings) and so many more major (and minor) life events. I watched as he 'grew up'. I watched as he met and married his beautiful wife. He is my 'honorary brother'. And this is son. Congratulations to you, Kristyn and Nik. He is perfect.
And to everyone else, I apologize now for the overload of pictures. They are too good not to share.
