Wow! What a first week of opening up services! Thank you all so very much for the overwhelming support!

I’ve been busy behind the sewing machine, getting measurements, and doing pinnings! Here is a quick menu for reference on pricing! These are big ranges to accommodate all client’s different needs.

As I am starting out, I am capping orders to about 15 clients/projects at a time and I’m almost filled up right now! 🥰

Last of my throwbacks, for now, is a project very close to my heart. This is my biggest design and build to date. Everything you see was sewn, dyed, riveted, and more by me!

This was complete costume design and construction for the NCTC Drama Spring 2022 Women’s History Month production of THE REVOLUTIONISTS by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Missy Embrey. Missy is my sister, best friend, and arguably my favorite person to collaborate with, and when she came to me with the vision of all four of these powerful women being visually stripped down to their most vulnerable, I was ecstatic. This was a chance to exercise my fashion history knowledge and creativity, doing undergarments from 18th century France, which are still wildly modest per today’s standard. These costumes included dyed muslin chemises, 18th century stays spiral bound and 100% b***d, panniers, bum pads, hoop skirts, and loads of embellishments.

Here’s something to light up this rainy Saturday!

This project is one of my all time personal favorites as it combined multiple skillsets and major loves in theatrical design. This was a custom, scenic and lighting fixture done for the fall 2021 NCTC Drama production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW directed by Thom Talbott with Technical Direction by Missy Embrey.

In collaboration with Missy’s technical direction, including scenic design, and Thom’s vision of a 1930’s German club style for the show, I stumbled across the 1920-1940 Tanzcasino Scala dance club and restaurant. Designed by Walter Wurzbach and Rudolf Belling, I fell in love with the Bauhaus design elements and got to work on creating a lighting fixture to serve as our “spaceship” and alien devices used throughout the show. With wood frames, custom muslin covers, and RGBAW LED strip lighting this lovely element came to life! This lighting element was able to have full control via DMX through the lighting board and be incorporated seamlessly into the design.

Also, the red velour drapes that adorned the entire black box space, were custom sewn by me to provide even more immersion to the world of the show!

Fun funky Friday! We made it through the week! I’m celebrating with a throwback for a super unique, fun project!

This was a complete design and construction for the one that helped get me started into drag several years ago, , for season four & week four of . This was made for the runway of this episode with category: UGLY. Ronnie had a whole backstory character for this runway of being a kid scared of clowns, and it was hysterical! Also included my quick sketches and notes on the design and inspiration. The fitted bodysuit caftan ended up becoming a reversible poncho as that’s what time allowed for the weekly live competition! Such a fun and unique project, and even better to do it with one of my dearest friends!

📆Year: 2021
🧵Materials: large sequin fabric, multicolored flannel, rainbow rick rack trim, multicolored cotton squares, large buttons

Happy Thursday! Do you know where your buttons are???

This next project was for the NCTC Drama production of CORDUROY by Barry Kornhauser. It was matching overalls for the actor and the stuffed bear! Both “incomplete” with missing buttons! This production was done in the late spring, and corduroy (let alone the right green color) was next to impossible to find. Instead, we searched for a lookalike fabric, and found a light woven outdoor upholstery that had the same look as corduroy from the stage! That’s what we call theatre magic!

📝Project: Matching overalls for actor and stuffed bear
📆Year: 2022
🎭Theatre: NCTC Drama’s production of CORDUROY
🎬Director: Thom Talbott
🧵Materials: light outdoor upholstery, large white buttons, heavy duty thread

Two for one Wednesday! Here’s another, more recent project.

A custom live floral arrangement, with flowers provided by Abundant Blooms in Gainesville, for Noelle D Synclair’s final four runway on the season finale of Dallas’ live elimination style drag competition, The Q***r Off: Season 6. This was a finishing accessory made to bring Noelle’s bouquet vision to life and adorn Eva DeLeon’s gorgeous gown. Was an honor to make for my good Judy, and collaborate with such amazing artists!

Another past project! Custom embroidered sweaters! Both of these were done as personalized gifts!

The blue sweater was a picture of my partner and I that I outlined and turned into a pocket logo on a sweatshirt with a custom “Slay” cuff.

The pink sweater was a matching set for my best friend and I, with a custom pocket logo design.

These make great personalized gifts!

Now that you know me, I’d like to introduce some of my past work!

First up, is a college project from my junior year in 2017 when I was working in the performing arts department costume shop! An exaggerated, wide brim boater tea/derby hat. Featuring fabric all from the now closed Gainesville shop, Pass Time Fabrics. I was having difficulty finding the right classic fabric for this project, and my lovely mother pointed me to the sweetest shop owner, Karen Brooks. She was phenomenally well versed in fabrics and a joy to shop with finding the perfect light woven fabrics for a fabulous summer tea hat!

📝Project: Wide Brim Boater Hat
📆Year: 2017
👩‍🏫Instructor: SFUAD Costume Professor, Erica Frank
🧵Materials: buckram, covered boning wire, woven linen fabric, feather

Hi there! Thanks for visiting the SPF Customs page! Little about the owner/creator behind it all:

My name is Austin Creswell, aka Stella P F***y! I was born and raised in Gainesville, TX (about an hour north of DFW), and went to college in Santa Fe, NM at Santa Fe University of Art & Design earning a BFA in Technical Theatre with a minor in Performance. After graduating in 2018, in order to be closer to family, I relocated back to my hometown area and began working in educational theatre. After 6 years, I made the hard decision to leave educational theatre in pursuit of healthier work/life balance. Now, I spend my days working in the service industry, performing in and out of drag, and pursuing freelance seamstress artistry.

I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember having been taught by my grandmother from a very young age. Then, spending all of my time in the theatre world from the time I was 9, has lended itself to learning and developing skills needed for design and construction of garments and costumes.

I currently live in Gainesville with my wonderful partner, Nate, and our little fur friends, Ripley Rose (gray kitty), Florence Grace (white, spotted pup), and Strauss Charles (black/brown pup)! When I’m not working, Nate and I are spending time with my wonderful parents, Nadine and Eddy Creswell, or my brother and my niece and nephew!

Enough about me! What can I sew for you??? DM or email me at [email protected] for inquiries!
