👕 NOT EVERY T-SHIRT IS THE SAME!

A tee is a tee, right? Not quite! 😂

When you place a custom order, there are actually a LOT of choices that can change how your finished shirt looks and feels.

Different brands can mean different: ✔️ Fits
✔️ Fabrics
✔️ Thicknesses
✔️ Softness
✔️ Sizing

Some tees are super soft and lightweight, some are heavier and more structured, and some fit completely differently even though the tag says the exact same size!

That’s also why I may ask you questions about brand, fit, or style instead of just asking, “What size do you need?”

My goal isn’t just to put a design on a shirt — I want you to actually LOVE wearing it! 💙

🧵 WHY DOES EMBROIDERY HAVE A STITCH COUNT?

This is one of those behind-the-scenes things that customers don’t always realize!

With embroidery, you’re not just paying for the size of a design — you’re also paying for the number of stitches it takes to create it. 🪡

More detail = more stitches.
More stitches = more machine time.
More machine time = more production cost.

A small, super-detailed logo can sometimes have more stitches than a much larger simple design! 🤯

That’s why embroidery pricing can vary so much from one design to another. I always work to find the right balance between detail, stitch count, durability, and cost so your finished piece looks great without adding unnecessary stitches.

Because believe it or not... every single one of those little stitches counts! 💙🧵

🧵 HOW IS EMBROIDERY ACTUALLY MADE?

It might look like I just put your shirt on the machine and hit GO… but there’s a little more to it than that! 😂

Before that needle ever starts stitching, your design has to go through a whole process:
✨ We create or prep the design
💻 Turn the artwork into an embroidery-ready stitch file
🧵 Choose & load the thread colors
⭕ Hoop and stabilize the item
🪡 Then FINALLY… we stitch it out!

And even then, there’s trimming, cleanup and quality checking before it heads out the door. 💙

Embroidery is definitely a process — but watching a design come to life one stitch at a time never gets old!

DTF vs. VINYL — WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? 👕
They’re both ways to customize apparel, but they definitely aren’t the same!
✨ DTF printing is my go-to for detailed, colorful designs. It allows me to print multiple colors, gradients and fine details without having to cut and w**d every individual piece.
✂️ Vinyl works great for simple designs, names, numbers and basic one- or two-color projects — but each piece has to be cut, w**ded and applied.
One isn’t necessarily “better” than the other — it’s about choosing the right process for the design and garment. That’s part of what I figure out behind the scenes so you don’t have to! 💙
And yes... avoiding hours of w**ding tiny pieces of vinyl is one reason I LOVE my DTF printer. 😂

🎨 WHY DOES ARTWORK QUALITY MATTER?

Because I can only print what you send me! 😂 And while I can work a little magic behind the scenes, the better the artwork we start with, the better your finished product will look.

For the best results, I LOVE:
✔️ High-resolution images
✔️ 300 DPI when possible
✔️ PNG files with transparent backgrounds
✔️ Clean, crisp artwork

And then there are screenshots. 😬😂
They may look perfectly fine on your phone, but once I enlarge them to fit a shirt, those tiny pixels can turn into a blurry mess FAST!

A big part of custom printing happens before your shirt ever reaches the heat press. Sometimes that means cleaning up artwork, removing backgrounds, resizing files, or even completely recreating a design so it will print correctly.

Good artwork in = a better finished product out! 💙

✨ WHAT EXACTLY IS DTF PRINTING? ✨
You hear me talk about DTF all the time… but what actually goes into making that design on your shirt? 👕

It’s a whole process!
Your design goes from artwork → film → powder → curing → heat press before it ever becomes the finished shirt you take home.

DTF is one of my favorite ways to create because it gives us:
✔️ Full-color designs
✔️ Bright, vibrant prints
✔️ Tons of detail
✔️ Long-lasting results
✔️ So many design possibilities!

While I’m recovering, I thought this would be the perfect time to show you a little more of the behind-the-scenes stuff at CCBJ and explain what actually goes into the custom items I make. 💙

And trust me… there’s a LOT more than just hitting “print.” 😂
