Shipping last week was NOT in my favor. 😩

My package was delayed, so I went ahead and reordered the exact same order to keep things moving. Well… that means I now have extra shirts coming. Instead of paying a restocking fee, I’m offering them to y’all at a discounted price!

We’re going to put Cher to work on these. 🖨️ The black lettering will be printed with Cher, so it will add very little weight or bulk to the shirt.

I can do ANY school!

Okay… I know I have been pretty quiet on here lately, but I THINK I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. 🙌😂

A little update on all the things:

**JACKETS:**
I believe all jackets are finally where they need to be. The last big batch was mailed almost 10 days ago. I still have a few here waiting on shipping addresses, and some refunds have been issued.

I also have extras that need a home. Because they do NOT need to live in my shop. 😂 Those will be posted early next week.

**BASEBALL/FOOTBALL JERSEYS:**
Everything I received has either been sent or refunded.

And somehow I have extras. I don't know how or why. Some people ended up with FOUR when they ordered ONE. 🤦‍♀️😂 So those extras will also be posted.

**CHEER OUTFITS:**
Everything I received that was paid for has been mailed, and some refunds were issued.

I also have extras from invoices that were never paid, so those will be posted too.

**SPLIT SWEATSHIRTS:**
ONE left to send out! 🙌

And yes… I have extras of these now too. 😂

I am so thankful my Great-Grandma taught me to sew many moons ago. When this vendor stopped responding, I pulled out my sewing machine and handled it myself. Granma Minnie would be tickled to know those sewing skills came back in handy. ❤️

And apparently I can offer split sweatshirts now. 😂

These kicked my butt. I finally broke them into smaller groups so I didn't look at the whole pile and question every life decision I've ever made. 😂

The kind and understanding messages were definitely easier to read than the not-so-nice ones… but that's okay. I used AI to respond to those. 😏😂

I am VERY ready to get back to making things myself and having control over the process. Lesson learned. Sewing skills sharpened. Almost caught up.

Today was Homecoming in El Reno, and all of the candidate shirts were delivered earlier this week… WOOHOO!! 🙌

And of course I have to show off my bad$$ niece with her amazing hoco mum made by the awesome Lindsey Head from Texas. 😂 For Tay to claim she isn’t girly, she was pretty dang excited about her new mum.

I mean, I don’t blame her. I was always excited about my Homecoming mums too, but mine did NOT look anything like hers! 😂

Now on to some STC updates because there is A LOT happening behind the scenes.

The remakes from Round 1 made it and are on their way to their owners. I am REALLY hoping these are all correct this time. 🤞

📣CHEER OUTFITS📣
They made it this week and are also on their way to their owners! I believe there was only one outfit that was not included, so that customer was refunded.

⚾🏈BASEBALL/FOOTBALL JERSEYS⚾🏈
They made it this week and have shipped out. The invoices matched what I had ordered, but for some reason something is still bugging me about them… so fingers crossed everything is right when they arrive. 😂🤞

Mailed out!! I do have some extra blanks, so those will be getting posted soon because I definitely do not need them sitting around here.

I ordered 35 and am still missing 18. I made and mailed everything I could with what I had.

I also called in reinforcements. 😂 A friend is coming out to help me brush up on my sewing skills.Yes, I CAN sew. My great-grandma taught me, and yes, I actually own a sewing machine. 😂The blanks I needed came in today, so I will be working on these this weekend.

🛍TOTE BAGS — THE BIGGER HEADACHE THAN THE JACKETS🛍
These have now been refunded. The supplier has completely stopped responding to my emails, and I am not comfortable continuing to make customers wait on something I cannot get answers about.

Refund emails have been sent to everyone affected.

👕T-SHIRTS FROM ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO👕
I am still waiting on those prints to get to me.

Normally I order from one place and purchase/create the artwork myself. Again… THIS is why I like doing things myself. 😂 When I control the process, I am not sitting around waiting on someone else or the post service to get their part done.

**LATE JACKET ORDERS:**
I do have a handful of jackets from late orders coming from another small-business owner who does the same type of work I do. I believe there are around six of those, so I am just waiting for them to arrive.

**EXTRA JACKETS:**
I somehow ended up with extra jackets. I am honestly not sure if it was a language/communication issue with the supplier or what happened, but they will be getting posted in the near future because they do NOT need to sit around my shop.

And finally…

I am FINALLY at a point where I feel like I can start getting back to regular Sweet Tea Creations business.

Outsourcing can be great. It opens up a lot of products and possibilities that I cannot manufacture completely in-house.

But whew. The stress that comes with depending on other people, suppliers, manufacturers, shipping, customs, communication issues, missing products, incorrect products, and everything else?

I’m still deciding if it is worth it. 😂

I am definitely ready to get back to doing more of what I do best — creating things myself, in my own shop, where I can actually control what is happening.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient with me through what has been one heck of a learning experience. 💜

25 years ago, the world we were living in changed forever.

I will never forget where I was that morning when I first heard the news. Lives were lost, families were changed forever, and our country was changed forever that day.

Now 25 years later, we have a 12 year old who is literally obsessed with the World Trade Center, past and present.

For probably the last 3 years, he has been building the original WTC in Minecraft. He has researched the buildings inside and out, the mall, the church, and even made sure to have the Sphere in the plaza. He has taught me a lot about the WTC over the years. 😂

Late last night he sent me this video and told me he had finally finished this version. His goal was to have it done by today.

He never saw the towers standing and only knows that day through pictures, videos, and everything he has researched. But he remembers it in his own way.

And as his parents, we are pretty proud of that. 🇺🇸

☕ Sweet Tea Check-In!

I know it has been a little quiet over here lately, but I promise I am working! 😅

Trying to balance Sweet Tea orders and Fair duties this week has been… well, not exactly a graceful balancing act. 😂 I am still working on orders and trying to get as much done as I can between Fair responsibilities.

If you have ever helped with a big event, you know how it goes — the team is small even when the workload is huge. That is definitely the season I am in this week.

A few updates:

✨ Round 1 do-over jackets, cheer uniforms, and baseball/football jerseys are all still in production.

I spoke with the supplier today, and if I understood him correctly, everything could be ready to ship late next week or early the following week, as long as production continues to go as planned.

And I FINALLY received the split sweatshirts Tuesday!! 🙌 WOOHOO! Of course they would show up during Fair week. 😂 I am trying to squeeze those into production this week as well. It’s not looking super promising, but I am trying!

I also have two fundraiser orders due this week, and those will be completed.

So yes — I am here. I am working. I am just not posting much right now.

Part of that is because I am learning my limits. And if I’m being completely transparent, after the whole customs fiasco with the cheer uniforms, I have felt horrible continuing to push new orders and new products while I still have previous orders that I haven’t been able to completely close out.

That delay was completely outside of my control, but I still know how frustrating it is to be waiting on something you ordered. I would rather focus on getting those outstanding orders finished and into your hands than constantly be yelling, “HEY! BUY THIS TOO!”

One thing I do want to say about the cheer outfits while we wait on them…

One of the biggest reasons I chose the particular outfit I did was because I thought it was the best option for our completely unpredictable Oklahoma weather.

It is SUPER cute worn by itself, but I also specifically liked that it should be easy to layer when the weather gets cooler... throw a long sleeve tee underneath it and leggings with it and you’re good to go. Because Oklahoma may give us summer, fall, winter and spring all before halftime. 🤦‍♀️😂

Thank you guys for continuing to be patient with me while I juggle all the things this week. Sweet Tea is still very much working. I’m just working more than I’m posting right now. ❤️
