2026 GIBBON CHEER PREVIEW:
Our 2026 Gibbon Cheerleaders are led by head coach Jackie Hoffmeister and assistant coach Jillian Smallcomb.

From coach Hoffmeister: This year’s team may be smaller than we’ve had in the past, but we are excited about the heart, dedication, and school spirit this group brings!

We are especially proud to be led by three amazing seniors who have been part of the program all four years. Their experience and leadership will be such an important part of our team this season!

We’re starting with the basics and building our skills one step at a time. Our stunts may start simple, but we are slowly adding more advanced skills as our confidence and abilities grow.

There is SO much to look forward to this season!

🦬 Little Buffaloes cheer camp and performance for our PreK–6th grade students

2026 GIBBON FOOTBALL PREVIEW
The Gibbon Buffaloes will be led by Steve Yockey along with assistant coaches Ben Fehringer, Tyson Greenwalt, and Jacob Miller. Coach Yockey says: I am really excited about the season getting underway. We had a great offseason, and we are just looking to build on the momentum that we created. This year's team will be athletic both at the skill position and at the line positions. One thing I am really excited about is our depth on the offensive and defensive line. Those guys are the most physical guys on the field and with some added depth I feel like they can get some more breaks throughout practices and games.

When it comes to the skill positions, we have a ton of guys that can carry the ball and catch passes for us. I don't think there will be one guy that other teams can key on. One thing we will have is a lot of speed at multiple positions.

Defensively I like the makeup of our team. There is a combination of speed and some really physical guys. Tackling will be a huge emphasis on a weekly basis, but we are extremely athletic.

This season I really look for diversity in our offense in terms of a ton of people being able to do different things.

Freshmen: Noah Adams, Karter Bendfeldt, Owen Burmood, Ricardo Corona, Caden Jones, Ryder Lee, and Tuff Steele. Sophomores: Riley Bergstrom, Kaden Binkey, Jacob Burns, Braulio Corona Sanchez, Darian Hernandez, Braxten Leonard, Graeson Swarm, and Ivan Tamayo. Juniors: Evynn Abiles, Rodolfo Corona, Abraham Hernandez, and Tyler Hodges. Seniors: Lukas Altwine, Crayton Ingram, Juan Rodriguez, Adan Tamayo, and Bryan Vargas.

The Buffs are ready to take the field! They open the season Friday, August 28, on the road against Hastings St. Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. Let’s pack the stands, bring the Buff pride and start the season strong! 🏈🦬

2026 GIBBON XC PREVIEW:
We’re excited to kick off another cross-country season! This year’s team will be a young and exciting group, with several junior high athletes joining us for the 2026 season. They are a solid group with a lot of talent, and we can’t wait to see how this group grows and develops throughout the years!
We lost both of our state qualifiers from last season, but we are excited to have several returning varsity athletes ready to step up and lead the way. We’re looking forward to a great season of hard work, growth, and plenty of opportunities to compete!
