A dress isn’t really her dress until it fits like it was made for her. Suzanne makes sure of it 🫶🏻

Every seam, every button, and that hem were fitted to her and only her. That’s the part nobody sees in the photos, and it’s the part that makes the photos.

Brides, please please please don’t order your dress a size smaller for motivation!

We get it. It’s tempting! But here’s the truth from the alterations room:

✂️ Taking a dress in is easy. Letting it out often isn’t. Most wedding gowns have very little extra fabric in the seams, so there may not be room to make it bigger.

✂️ Bridal sizing runs differently than street sizing. Your wedding dress size might be 1–2 sizes larger than what you normally wear, and that’s completely normal.

✂️ Stress, schedules, and life happen. Your body may change before the big day (in either direction), and a well-fitting dress gives you options.

✂️ The right fit is what makes a dress look expensive. A gown that fits you now can be tailored to perfection by your wedding day.

✂️ still losing weight? Don’t wait to find your dress! Gowns can take months to arrive, so waiting can leave you short on time. If you lose more before the wedding, we can take it in further. That’s exactly why we schedule multiple fittings!

Our advice? Order the size that fits your measurements, and let your seamstress do the rest. That’s what Suzanne is here for! 🪡

Almost always this seems to be the case.

Your bustle is sewn directly into the gown, which means it’s just as delicate as the lace or tulle around it, it’s not indestructible!
Most ‘broken bustles’ we see actually have perfectly intact buttons and loops…it’s the fabric around them that’s torn, which means it was stepped on, pulled, or caught on something.
And that’s okay, it happens!
But just know: that’s not a seamstress error. So on your wedding day, be mindful when backing up, and give the people around you a heads up too. 🫶🏻
