The Laden Branch, vintage goods

The Laden Branch, vintage goods TheLadenBranch is a family owned Etsy shop. We stock quality vintage goods for serious collectors and casual shoppers alike! We were out of control.

We (a mother and her three daughters) loved to buy nearly anything vintage. Our need to collect these treasures outgrew the space we had to keep them in and a solution to our buying problem had to be found. So we turned to the internet and found Etsy. Now we can continue to buy all the lovely things we find, share them with the world, and then go buy some more! The majority of our finds are picked

up at thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, and antique shops. We enjoy the hunt and take road trips all over Minnesota in search of great finds. We also love to shop locally in our small towns up north (way north!) and pretty much can't take a trip downtown without stopping at the thrift stores to see what we can find. We strongly believe that being honest with our customers in our descriptions and photos is the best way to keep our shop growing. We make sure to pack all of our items very carefully to ensure they arrive safely at our customers doors. Most of all we try to have fun. We really do enjoy what we do here and we do our best to make sure our customers enjoy shopping with us as well. In short, we've never had such a good time while working.

Pyrex made “clear bottom” bowls in the 1980s and 90s in a wide variety of colors. This set is often called Forest Green, and Pyrex marketed it as being a jewel tone.

Whatever you call it, it’s a gorgeous color and would look quite fetching in any kitchen!

What do a famous watch brand, a fast food restaurant, a Canadian whiskey and the Yellow Pages have in common? It’s a good riddle. The answer is Ritepoint, USA; a company that manufactured promotional items in the 1960’s-1970’s.

Featuring Burger King in bright orange, Rolex in forest green, General Electric Credit Union in chocolate brown, the Yellow Pages in sunny yellow of course, Continental Bank in mint green, Downtowner Motor Inns in turquoise, and Seagrams VO Canadian Whiskey in royal blue.

Vintage from the 90s or earlier, this tray is in good condition. It has just a little patina and spots of wear, giving it a distinctive look.

This charming mirror features a brass duck with a quaint country house and barn in the background. Or maybe it’s a goose…the bill leans a bit duck, if you ask me. But we’ll let you decide for yourself.

When we acquired this 1990s vintage mirror, we were informed that it “might be haunted,” but we can neither confirm nor deny that claim. We leave that up to you to decide as well.

Either way, this ducky decor is sure to look attractive hanging in your home! It has a keyhole style hanger, for easy installation, and a felt backing to prevent it from scratching your walls. The piece measures about 10” in diameter, and is about 1/2” deep.

SOLD!
This TV lamp by LeMieux embodies the power of the horse. Rearing up, awesome in his strength, waves rising at his feet.

It was produced ca. 1950-1960, when these small lights were popular. As television was becoming more common in American households, the low resolution of tv screens made people watch in darkened rooms and it was believed a little low lighting would prevent damage to vision by reducing eye strain. So tv lamps were born!

Stopped at the thrift store today, but didn’t buy anything. There are a couple of things I wished I’d grabbed. Those bird plates 🥺

What would you have taken home?

Prices are estimates for what we would have listed them for on Etsy.

In 1936, Hazel Atlas introduced a new type of glass that they called Platonite. This semi opaque white glass was used on many of their most beloved patterns and colors.

These plates are the Ovide pattern, a simple, charming design that can fit right in with a wide variety of table settings.
