This is Tut and he raises & trains quarter horses with his wife on his ranch here in Gillette, Wyoming. I stopped by the tire shop to have my tires checked and here this lovely man was standing by his horse trailer waiting for his repairs to be done when I pulled up. I had just been to the shop and made a few of my cowboy cups - now normally I leave the boxes at home with the lids etc but yesterday was different. I had the boxes, lids, labels with me.

I knew instantly when I saw Tut that I should give him one of my cups just because. We had a very nice conversation and his family settled here a long time ago. He referred to his wife as his "bride" which I found endearing and was very proud of his daughter. I asked him if I could take his photo and post it and he agreed.

Meeting Tut was the highlight of my day and I am honored to have had the chance meeting with him - wishing the best for Tut and his family.

A little story: How I came to name my business Howdy Sal.
Well, many years ago when my son was in the Army, he said "Mom, you need to get a dog or a gun or both". So I went to the shelter and picked up this old boy who was around 10 yrs old and named him "Howdy" He was the best dog I have ever had. To honor him (as he got me through my son's deployment to Afghanistan) I decided to name my little business in part after him. He was pure love and a golden heart.
