Digging into the dirt can be fun and educational.🪱🌱

As part of our Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program, young scientists got their hands dirty creating their very own worm hotels. Using recycled plastic bottles, kids built cozy homes where they can watch worms tunnel through layers of soil while learning about the important role these tiny underground helpers play in our ecosystem.

This project is made possible in part by a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio.

Our summer reading program keeps unearthing amazing discoveries! 🦎🐍🐢

Yesterday, Komara Outdoors slithered and crawled into the library, giving kids the chance to meet incredible snakes, lizards, and tortoises up close. Brave explorers even got to touch many of the reptiles while learning fascinating facts about these remarkable animals.
