Consultation with new clients always starts at the nape. It is the foundation of understanding where we can begin based on desired goals.

Client hasn't had color in 20 years. Rare these days. She wanted some form of copper/red and gave me permission to do the color I thought best.

There was 1 rule, "I don't want to have to come back every 30 days because I have a line here. (As she pointed to the very top of her head).
You can see she has a warm golden tone to her blonde hair.

My initial thoughts:
-Potentially 1 and done. (20yrs!)
-Stay within 2 levels of natural. (If client loves, and desires darker next time, base is already there.)
-3-4 months between services.
-May want deeper levels in the future.
-Copper level would hold best right now.
-No use of heat normally.

Final decisions:
-1 1/2 level darker than natural.
-Introduce Red into a Copper Blonde base.

Formula:
1 part Blonde Base
2 parts Copper Color
1 part Red Color

-Formula can:
-Return to natural color over time.
-Work as a filler for future deep Coppers and Reds.
-Meet all desires without having to worry about if she will maintain it ,or not.

This client averages 3+ months between color services. Always books highlight/low-light.

We customize at every appointment. Between the greys around the hairline growing increasingly more frequent, being outside in the summer compared to hibernating in the winter, making customization necessary every time.

Things definitely change per season. Remember, I service this client about every 3 months. That's 4 times a year.

Believe it or not, this client gets very minimal color in comparison to the amount of hair she has. If I had to color all of her hair, cost would be 4x what it is. But it's not necessary.

Blonde, brown and natural grey blending doesn't have to be complicated.

When you're embracing your natural maturity and loving, what I call, sparkle highlights.

Seamless transition from coloring, to natural growth, takes customization. There are placement variables to balance from hairline, through the crown, and into the nape of the hair.

Some clients are salt & pepper.
Some clients are all silver.
Some clients are 80% silver and want 30% silver.
Some clients want some blonde incorporated.
Some clients want more pepper incorporated.

You can have beautiful hair and highlights, even if you have wellwater.

This client was a LOT overdue. Everyday life doesn't always allow for committed appointments. Believe it or not, this beautiful soul was BLONDE.

Time management doesn't allow for her to keep that strict blonde schedule up anymore.

So we decided on combining her natural color with highlights that will last longer between color appointments. This will work much better into this business owners very busy scheduling.

🤔 Although I do remember my grandma telling me something along the lines of, 👉It doesn't matter what they say, they're saying your name. It's all free advertisement. I do get tired of what I'm hearing about myself that just is not true. But hey, carry on I guess. 🤷‍♀️

Kellie Sherlock and I are absolutely still friends. Why wouldn't we still be friends? 🤔

Lyn, the "nail lady", is still at Cristy's Salon for nail services. I am not authorized to give her direct # to everyone requesting her services, nor do I have access to her schedule.
