Some people may wonder what makes this build so special. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s being built in a small two-bay garage with no expensive tools. Or maybe it’s that every single component on this bike is being restored by hand, down to the last nut and bolt. Or maybe it’s simply the pure dedication and passion behind it. Greatness isn’t built in a day, and neither is this.

1993 was a great year in motocross.

In honor of the pro motocross series opener this weekend, we’re taking a look back at the 1993 500 series. These bikes have as much power as the modern 450s and riders like Jeff Stanton and Mike Larocco didn’t hold back. We’re bringing one of these bikes back to life, and one of you is going to own a piece of motocross history.

Back when the 500 ruled.

The CR500 was a 500cc liquid-cooled two-stroke built in an era before limits. With raw power, violent delivery, and a reputation for being hard to hold onto, it wasn’t made for everyone. It was nicknamed “The Animal,” and it became one of the most iconic and respected bikes ever created, defining what open-class motocross was all about.

We’re building a CR500 from the ground up and giving it away. Hit the link in bio to get entered.
