As the daughter of parents from a Lebanese heritage, I grew up in a family of women who love beautiful jewelry-much of which is passed from from one generation to the next. I started working with a crochet hook and taught myself to make the beautiful jewelry that you see on this site. I was very attracted to the idea of making crochet jewelry with wire because I’m in love with the way it looks whe

n it is being worn. I work with wire, all types of glass beads including sea glass, freshwater pearls and many other types of beads to create one-of-a-kind items for you to wear and enjoy. Jewelry today is not as heavy as it once was. Creating wire crocheted jewelry allows for beautiful, lightweight, wearable pieces that look fantastic against your skin. You may ask, why the name Twisted Fig Designs? “Twisted” describes the process of working with wire to create beautifully created crocheted jewelry. “Fig” comes from the fact that both sets of my grandparents always had fig trees growing in their yards. It seemed appropriate for me to use a word from my heritage in the name of my jewelry business. Along with many of my female cousins, I have inherited beautiful jewelry from the Middle East from my relatives. Even today we still compare our jewelry and remember our loved ones and their generosity. My line of jewelry has generated lively conversations with my cousins who admire the handcrafted jewelry just as we did the inherited jewelry when we were younger. Enjoy!
