A powerful morning celebrating a decade of SisterFund’s mission to uplift Black women and girls in Greater Richmond.

Brilliantly chaired by Chris Hairston White, the program included inspiring remarks from President Monica Manns, Dr. Rashida Gray, and our wonderful emcee Jessica Bell Brown.

We honored our visionary founders: Veronica Fleming, Delegate Delores L. McQuinn, The Honorable Ellen F. Robertson, Greta J. Harris, The Honorable Cynthia I. Newbille, and Evette Roots.

Jill Coleman, Endowment Chair, gave a clear update on our mission and financial goals, and it was great to have Sherrie Armstrong, President & CEO of the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, with us.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Deborah Willis—MacArthur Fellow, Guggenheim Fellow, acclaimed author and leading historian of African American photography—left us inspired.

As a member of the Virginia Citizens Advisory Council, I enjoyed our holiday/end-of-year brunch and was glad to bring my friend Rudene Mercer Haynes. It was lovely reconnecting with CAC members and visiting with outgoing First Lady Suzanne Youngkin.
