Good morning! Today is an exciting turning point as I let you know that JWren is closing. Our last day will be June 17 unless we clearance all of our inventory before that time. I won't tell you I have a heavy heart about this, but a very full and grateful heart. Grateful first and foremost for my husband and in-laws who are also my business partners for supporting & allowing me to carry out my crazy vision.
My goal for this small business was to allow me to be a MOM FIRST. At the time I brought the idea forward I was working much more than full time hours and missing things in Carter's life which was unacceptable to me. Thankfully, they supported me 100%.
My second goal was to bring something new and amazing to the beautiful Glenwood square. At the time that I purchasd the building in 2013 the square was struggling. I have been fortunate to be a part of reviving that small town vibe again which truly makes my heart happy! I have met amazing, hard working entrepreneures who shared a similar vision & have brought new life to our little town. These folks have purchased, flipped and done their best to preserve the buildings that house their businesses and homes for many of them.
I am proud to say I've been part of many many things in our community and have met some amazing friends along the way. My aunt Mary (who has always been super insightful), reminded me on the very day I opened that I would only be here awhile...in fact, about 5-7 years. She knows me well and knows that I get very restless around that time and need to move on. She was right, it's time! The retail climate has changed in the past several years and it was never my goal to be an online retailer.
Matt & I aren't leaving Glenwood but we are ready to start the next chapter in our lives as Carter graduates HS in just a few short weeks. I look forward to spending the summer with family before Carter heads to AZ for college in August.
Although JWren will no longer be on the square, I know the new building owners will make the space something great and love it as much as I have.
