"Oh, please don't feel like a bad machine mom! If anything, keeping it tucked away in its case on a hallway floor means you've kept it shielded from dust, direct sunlight, and worst-case scenario drops. That hard case did exactly what it was engineered to do: guard a classic.

What you have here is a fantastic vintage workhorse! Specifically, it is a Deluxe Precision Built ZigZag (Model No. 1717), manufactured by the Standard Sewing Equipment Corp. out of Cleveland, Ohio.

These all-metal machines from that era are practically indestructible. Unlike modern machines loaded with delicate computerized boards, these vintage mechanical models are built like tanks. With just a little love, they can sleep for a decade, wake up, and sew through heavy denim or thick canvas without breaking a sweat."

It was given to me in 2012 and has stayed in its case since I got it. I decided to open it outside just in case some creatures made a break for it. You just never know 🤩 Definitely giving the case and cover a bath 🫧🧼🫧
