I know what I will do with the next flat front dresser I find!

"This dresser was very plain Jane and I was inspired to take advantage of the flat drawer fronts and transform this into a faux apothecary cabinet 🧪.

After a good sanding and puttying the old handle holes, we did shallow cuts on the drawer fronts to give the look of 8 drawers per one full size drawers. I stained it in a custom mix of General Finishes Antique Walnut and Java Gel Stains and then aged and antiqued the piece using Briwax - TRG Products on the whole piece." - Upcycling by Amy

I love this transformation

"Adorable little mid-century modern record cabinet turned bookshelf!! With some construction help from my husband Jim, we were able to built and add in a shelf for some support and extra storage. I painted the whole piece in General Finishes China Blue Milk Paint 💙, gave the legs some glam with some metallic gold paint and sealed the whole piece in GF High Performance Topcoat." - Upcycling by Amy

I will have to try dry brushing our water based stains.

"Sick of the current wood color on a piece of furniture? Well my client was and needed to change the wood tone on her living room set to match her other furniture.

I’m using a technique I haven’t done before of dry brushing General Finishes water based wood stain to accomplish this (or attempt to at least 😆). Notice the progression of change from original cherry color (top drawer), to one coat (middle drawer) to 2 coats on the long drawer on bottom!

If you’d like I can give more info on this process soon but I tell you a few things for sure: it’s much more user friendly than stripping (which pretty much anything is 😆) and definitely more “timeframe” friendly than using oil based stains like gel stain!" - Kristin's Krazy Garage, LLC
