Through each failure, every disappointment and through all the heartaches, I still found a way to keep my head up and my heart open.
There were so many times when I wanted to shut down, build high walls and disappear behind them..
But I knew that would never make me happy.
I stopped blaming everyone else for what went wrong and started trying to learn from the setbacks..
And it’s a hard thing to do to understand why some things don’t work out and why some things do.
I used to spend so much time staring at the closed doors that I wanted so badly to walk through that I didn’t see the new doors opening right beside them.
But when I finally started embracing change and trying to understand my journey better…
That’s when everything started to change.
Maybe I didn’t always immediately get why things happened or the lessons that I was meant to learn, but with patience and grace, k began to make peace with the bad stuff.
I didn’t let it make me bitter or resentful anymore, because the only person that hurt was me..
And I was done with being hurt.
I knew that if I wanted to be happy- truly happy, I would have to grow stronger, wiser and happier with each passing day…
No matter how hard that was.
Do I still have bad days that make me want to curl up in bed and cry?
Of course I do.
Do I still get my feelings hurt by people that I love?
Absolutely.
But now, I don’t take everything personally and I try to learn from the experiences that life gives me.
I know now that life will never be perfect and that there will still be storms and gross people, but I’ve learned to take it all in stride.
Enjoy the victories when I can, no matter how small..
I could have grown cold and angry from all the things and people that hurt me,
But I’m better than that.
I dug deep, found out who I was and grew courageous instead-
Brave enough to face my shortcomings, strong enough to endure the hard days and determined enough to never quit.
I still make mistakes and things still go wrong, but now, I never let it bring me down.
After all, it’s me versus me, and no matter what, I’m coming out ahead every time.
I may be many things, but most of all, I’ll always be happy, proud and resilient…
Like the strong person I was always meant to become.

Always remember you are a queen

Don’t forget how much you’ve already fought. You’ve survived things you thought would like you.

Darling,
I know life has been hard lately and you feel like you’re drowning at every turn, but keep going.
Lift your head, dig deep and find a way- you always do.
Life may have gotten the best of you for a while, but it doesn’t storm forever.
You’re going to come through this stronger , wiser and better than you’ve ever been before, but first, keep fighting and get through it.
I’m not saying it will be fast or easy, only that it will be worth it.
You’re worth it..
I’m fact, you’re worth everything, and it’s time that you started to believe that.
Stop beating yourself for the past and begin believing in your future..
Because your best days, happiest moments and beautiful love haven’t happened yet,.
And they will.
I know you’ve been fighting for survival as long as you can remember, but this is where your story starts to change.
Don’t give up on your hopes and dreams before ever really started.
Turn the page.
Start a new chapter.
Believe in yourself, because you’ve got this.
Stop letting the troubles that you face make you doubt yourself.
You’re a beautiful strong soul who is capable of anything, so start by finding that person you’ve lost along the way.

Know your worth

I know you thought that I would just be another challenge for you, and that’s true…
I am challenging.
That’s just the start of who I am.
There’s so much more to me than you could never have expected, and that’s okay.
Most people aren’t prepared for a person like me.. I possess an uncommon fire and passion that is unparalleled..
And I can’t be diminished or dismissed, no matter how hard you try.
But what you also didn’t count on was that I’m not just another pretty face or notch in your belt…
Far from it, in fact.
I’m the one that you were told to wait for..but I’m also the one you were warned about.
You’ve never met one like me and you never will again, so forget what you know and lose the player’s guide that you follow.
There are only two options with me:
Make me a priority or find another choice…
Because I don’t play waiting games and I’m not going to chase you.
I know my worth and I value my self respect…
And if you can’t do the same, then let’s part amicably.
I’m never going to be the one begging for your attention, playing the games or being okay with being ignored.
I’ll never tell you that I’m perfect, flawless or without fault, because I have my bad days, fits of emotional outbursts and even the times when I don’t really want to leave the house.
But even with my complicated and sometimes messy self, I’m worth everything.
I’m worth being put first.
I’m worth being treated with respect.
I’m worthy of being loved the way I deserve.
Maybe you’re the one I’ve been waiting for and perhaps you’re up to the task…
Time will tell and actions will speak volumes.
Don’t tell me what you’re going to do or how..
Just do it..
With class, honor, respect and character.
Who knows?
Play your cards right and I might just end up on your arm.
It’s up to you to prove that you’re worth it.
