I first wrote The Adventures of Kit Kat 30 years ago. Many of you later supported its first published edition in 2016. Today, I'm honored to share its newly revised 30th Anniversary Read-Aloud Edition...

Over the years, I've learned so much about writing, storytelling, and creating books for young readers. As I looked back at Kit Kat, I knew she deserved a fresh start.

This isn't just a reprint. I carefully rewrote the story to make it more enjoyable for today's young readers while preserving the heart of Kit Kat's adventure. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and I'm so proud of how it turned out.

If you were one of the wonderful people who purchased the original edition back in 2016... thank you. Your encouragement helped me continue writing, and because of that support, there is now a growing collection of Nana's Attic Storybooks.

Without a doubt... my pink flamingo snippers! 😂

People often ask why I use them instead of regular scissors.

The answer is simple—they make me smile every time I pick them up.

Somewhere along the way, these little flamingos became my favorite tool. They're always within reach, easy to spot in the middle of a pile of yarn, and they've been part of countless crochet projects.

Every maker has that one tool they just can't imagine working without.

Honestly...

They can come from almost anywhere.

A conversation.
A child's drawing.
A book.
A walk through a craft show.
Even a customer asking,
"Could you make...?"

Some ideas become storybooks.
Some become original crochet patterns.
And some stay scribbled in my notebook until the right day.

That's one of the things I love most about being creative...

Halloween may still be a few months away, but around here, it's officially pumpkin season! 🎃🧶

My crochet hook has been busy turning soft yarn into colorful little pumpkins, and there's a black cat in the works too. 🐈‍⬛

One of my favorite parts of creating is watching a pile of yarn slowly transform into something that will hopefully make someone smile at a fall craft show.

These little cuties are getting ready for my September market, and I can't wait to see the basket fill up!
