✨BIG ANNOUNCEMENT✨

First of all, hai guys!

Secondly ... I am available to take on a limited number of quilt projects over the next two months for any 🎓graduate gifts (or anyone that wants a quilt, I don't care). Here's the deets:

1. First of all, send me a message. I will require a small deposit as my capacity is limited. I don't want to hold a slot without a project.
2. Also, as many of you have heard, JoAnn Fabrics is closing, and that's a huge problem for sourcing fabric that is of decent quality while still being economical. Depending on the colors you want, I may need to impose a fabric surcharge to cover extra costs. If you want black or grey, the price will stay the same. Still trying to figure this out...
3. I will have the project finished for graduation.

Long time no post, peeps!

Due to a variety of reasons - and all of them non-sewing related - I have made the decision to suspend my sewing business at the end of the year. I remain deeply appreciative to all of you who have brought me projects, followed this page, shared my posts, and generally been my threadbox of cheeerleaders for more than five years. I am humbled and grateful for your support. Somehow I accumulated more than 500 likes/followers, and that still just blows me away.

So, in real terms, what does this mean?
1. If I have a project of yours currently, I'm throwing it away. HA! KIDDING. Actually, I've started wearing the stuff. Okay, no seriously, for real now: I anticipate having all of them done by December 1.
2. If you are a current client and have discussed a future project with me -- y'all know who you are and so do I, don't try and pull a fast one on me -- I will still make every attempt to honor that commitment. Unless I win the lottery or move to Europe.
3. I may, on occasion, re-open a window to take on projects if I am feeling really bored, broke or inspired. Or I may not.
4. You are welcome to message me, I may or may not read it as I am also debating quitting social media all together in 2024 and doing more important things, like learning Luxembourgish. But if you have a question or something I sewed for you is coming undone, type away.

If you are looking for someone to make a tshirt quilt, I recommend doing a little due diligence. Ask for photos. Ask what kind of materials they use. Avoid anyone who uses fleece.

If you are looking for alterations on fancy dresses, ring up my bud across the village, That's Sew Shelby. Don't ask her to make a quilt.

If you are looking for alterations on pants or a zipper replacement or something your grandma would have been like, "P'shaw, bring me my sewing basket, dear," I recommend either the Grafton dry cleaner next to Even Odds or the person downtown, Aba Semar.

If you are looking for a new adventure in 2024, I highly recommend starting a sewing business. This requires you to know how to sew, btw. But there's a lot of people out there who want stuff sewn. You can also buy my page, open to offers. 🙂

I will occasionally do custom work. This one was pretty cool. The client provided me with a bag of scraps from a wedding dress and asked for a headband and booties for a baptism. Et voila!

Sometimes when I do bears, the client will ask for a specific fabric or two to be incorporated in all of the bears. For this one, I used a bathrobe to make pants for the bears and the top of a BDU for the ears and foot pads. The bear on the far right was made out of pj pants - I was able to design the bear in a way that the pockets really look like a button down shirt and the tie is a portion of the waistband tie.

And I'm baaack from annoying the lovely Europeans. 🇸🇪🇳🇴 Kicked off my re-entry with this quick turnaround project which was a baby shower gift. The client had a collection of shirts from an annual family get together with Mary Beth's first name on them. I used every single appearance of her name in this memory bear, which will look over her grandbaby when it's born. ♥️

Currently open for summer orders. It's a great time to get a pillow or quilt made to send off to college with a new graduate.

It's graduation season - here's a 2-for-1 for a busy graduate. It's often better to go with two quilts (one is a lap qullt and the other is a single) than a gigantor one.

Opening up my schedule for new projects June 10! I'll be spending two weeks out of the country celebrating my own graduate earning her master's degree. 🎓

These two bears made of baby blankets are on their way to two sisters. These actually make a great, sentimental gift to send along with someone for their first year of college.

Just finished a hat trick project: 3 memory lap quilts that all look like this. 👇🏼

What makes these super cool is that the wonderful person they are made in memory of was also a quilter, and her daughter provided me with the purple fabric from her mom's fabric stash to use for the binding and borders. I think it makes these quilts look so cheerful, and it always makes me happy to see the memory quilts that bring positive vibes. ✌🏼💜

And that's a wrap on the holiday projects. Thank you to all who continue to support my work and this page. The last project included three "memory" stockings (an idea suggested by the client), which I will offer going forward.

I am most grateful for your continued support! I will be heading off to prison, I mean, rehab, no really, out of the country now. I'll be back at the machine in January after I figure out how to post bail money ... stay clean ... use my Global Entry to get back.
