A stye is a small, painful lump that develops along the eyelid, often caused by a bacterial infection of an eyelid gland.

Watch for redness, swelling, tenderness, or a small bump along the eyelid.

Avoid rubbing or squeezing the stye. A warm compress may help, but if it persists, worsens, or affects your vision, have it checked by your eye doctor.

Remember: Don't squeeze or pop a stye!
