I have an idea… and I think Shirley would love it. ❤️🏌️‍♀️

Next year, I want to host a shotgun-style golf tournament in honor of my friend Shirley.

I only got to play golf with Shirley a little, but she made an impression on me. She gave me tips, encouraged me, and I remember thinking I wanted her to be my partner again.

Then, far too soon, she was gone.

So instead of letting that be the end of her story, I want to turn it into something that keeps giving.

My dream is to create an annual golf tournament where the proceeds go toward golf scholarships for girls who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play. Scholarships for lessons, clinics, equipment, and the chance to learn this beautiful game.

Because golf is about so much more than golf.

It teaches confidence. Patience. Discipline. Independence. How to lose and try again. How to celebrate someone else's good shot. How to make friends. How to believe you belong somewhere.

And I want more girls to have that opportunity.

But here's the thing…

I have an idea. I don't have all the answers. 😂

So I'm putting this out into the community.

If you know a golf course that might want to partner with us…
If you know businesses that love sponsoring local causes…
If you have connections with women's or junior golf programs…
If you know someone who could help organize, sponsor, donate, volunteer, or simply tell me what the heck I'm doing…

I want to hear from you.

I want to build this with the community.

I want to create something that Shirley's name can live inside of not just as a memorial, but as an opportunity.

A girl picks up a golf club.
She learns the game.
She finds her confidence.
Maybe she falls in love with golf.

And somewhere along the way, we get to say:

“This started because of Shirley.”

The weight of grief is a strange thing.

It doesn't always belong to one person or one moment. Sometimes it arrives in waves, touching your family, your community, your friends... until your heart simply feels heavy.

The loss of Nolan Wells made me hold my own son a little tighter. The tragedy involving Keegan, who was in Jonah's driver's training class, hit close to home. Yesterday I learned one of my golf ladies passed away ( Shirley). None of these moments are connected, yet together they've reminded me of one simple truth:

Life is incredibly fragile.

Lately, I've found it hard to care about small talk, algorithms, or the noise that fills our screens. What matters is the person sitting across from you. The phone call you keep putting off. The hug that lasts a little longer. The "I love you" that shouldn't wait until tomorrow.

So I'm stepping away from social media for a little while. Not because I don't care, but because I do. I want to spend more time with the people I love, find some quiet, and make space for what really matters.

If you're reading this, check on your people. Tell them you love them. Be kinder than necessary. We never truly know what someone is carrying or how much time we have together.

Today at the Merchants & Makers Market for coast gaurd was an absolute blast! So many geodes were cracked, so many smiles were shared, and every surprise inside reminded me why I love doing this.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my little setup by the music (no tent... just me and my trusty geode barrel 😉). Whether you took home a sparkling treasure, found your new favorite rock, or simply shared a laugh, you made my day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Mirthy, made a guess, and joined in the fun during Coast Guard Festival. I think this was such a hit that we might just have to do it again!

I do want to apologize for ending the contest a little earlier than originally planned. I'll be taking a short social media cleanse while I spend some time creating, so I wanted to wrap things up before my break.
