We're celebrating TWO employee anniversaries today... When your optician’s favorite eyewear brand is Versace, you know she has an eye for a great frame. We’re celebrating Michelle’s 5th year with our team. Her favorite part of the job is the people, from helping patients find a comfortable fit to working alongside her Grand Island coworkers every day.

Michelle loves going to concerts and watching scary movies, which feels fitting for someone who appreciates a bold frame and a good thrill.

Helping people find a frame that fits their life is what Stacia, Optician, does best.

Now celebrating 3 years at our Grand Island location, Stacia brings a patient-first perspective shaped by her own vision journey. She started wearing glasses at age 10, wore gas permeable contacts for two years, had LASIK, and after cataract surgery, she’s back in glasses again.

That kind of practical experience is nearly impossible to replicate. Add in 54 years of marriage, two daughters, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and it's clear that Stacia brings the kind of patience, perspective, and care that people notice right away.

By her own count, Abi joined our team 731 days ago, and our Grand Island location has been running a little smoother ever since.

As our Receptionist, Abi helps keep each visit as organized as the papers she somehow always knows exactly where to file.

Abi has two dogs, Layla and Gato, who probably think they are her favorites. But they may have some competition from Delores, Abi’s beloved truck, complete with custom pinstriping and metal engraving designed by Abi herself.

This Bird can fly.

Berlyn Schutz, known to many as Birdie, had a remarkable season. She set—and reset—Big Red records, challenging Olympians and world qualifiers along the way. Then she brought home silver in the 1500 meters at the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships to cap off a great season.

We were happy to make her a pair of custom-etched Oakley sunglasses to celebrate one of the best seasons in Husker track history and help Birdie fly in style.
