Each Muriel's sweater is made to order in-house (in-basement, to be exact) from sustainable fibers, much of it sourced in Vermont & around New England. By growing a market for local wool we’re supporting our neighbors who sequester carbon by managing their land with intention.

Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home in Manchester, VT feels particularly relevant as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s adoption of the principles that the Lincoln family so steadfastly advanced. The estate includes a working farm with sheep & alpaca who produce the most glorious yarns - & now the most lovely sweaters. We’re honored to be partnering with an organization that’s preserving such an important part of our nation’s history & thrilled to be working with their luxurious yarns.

Six years ago Cyrus was 22 years old & loving life - his days were filled with snowboarding, skateboarding, & hiking. Then his mom said to him “Hey, wanna start a business making vintage quality wool sweaters while helping out Vermont farmers?” “Sure,” he said, “that sounds great.” His mom did NOT say “Hey, wanna spend the next six years of your life working 60 hour weeks learning to program, operate, & repair complex industrial knitting machines?” Impossible to know how 22 year old Cyrus would have answered THAT question but I’m so grateful that 28 year old Cyrus forgives me for being somewhat misleading back then. Happy Birthday business partner.
