Hey Everyone! I wanted to share a new book that a dear friend, Abigail Butler, has just released called Sew Home in the Kitchen! The last new pattern release is the Lydia Wallet. This design can be used as a wristlet bag or as a wallet inside another bag. The wristlet strap is detachable and the wallet features either a magnetic snap or twist lock closure.

The interior boasts two large pockets (suitable for stashing your phone), several ID/credit card pockets, and one zippered pocket for loose change. The wallet measures 4 3/4”H x 7 1/4”W x 5/8”D closed and 13 3/4”H x 7 1/4”W open.

Today's featured new design is the Marie cross body bag. This one is perhaps my favorite, and I have sold SO many of this bag in my KW Made booth at shows. It is a favorite among many, for sure!

Offered in two sizes, this bag has 3 pockets and holds a lot, even for the small size. There is a large slip pocket on the outside with a zippered pocket, as well as a zippered pocket on the inside. Even with all these details, it stitches up quickly and looks so nice when finished. It can be made with several fabrics or just a couple depending on the look you are going for. The strap is adjustable so you can get just the right fit cross body or over the shoulder.

This one's a winner! You need it in your pattern library! It is a PDF downloadable pattern with just a few sheets for the pattern pieces, so it tapes together quickly, OR you can take advantage of the larger format file and print to a larger sheet with no taping at all.

Next in the new pattern highlights is the Holly Cross Body bag. This is a flat bag design, much like a large wearable pocket. Measuring 10 3/4” H x 7 3/4” W, with a 1” wide strap, it features exterior pockets on the front with a zippered main closure. The strap is fully adjustable so it can be worn cross body or over the shoulder. This bag holds slightly more than the Skyler, but is still a compact bag for the essentials.

Since the release of the new bag patterns last week, I thought I would revisit each one and give some additional details about each design.

First up is the Skyler Cell Phone bag. This is a quick and easy pattern that is a cinch to stitch! Measuring at 7"H x 4"W x 1"D, it is the perfect size for holding just the essentials: cell phone, ID, and a bit of cash. Features include a small zippered front pocket, bag flap with magnetic closure, and an adjustable strap to wear it cross body or over the shoulder.

Hey Everyone! I hope you all have been keeping your sewing machines humming right through this pandemic. I have made over 1500 masks...so it has been a bit busy and "linty" over here....LOL!

I thought I would share a skirt today that I made from my mask scraps. This is from the Fashion Formula Skirts, Volume 2 booklet. It was a fun stitch and I look forward to wearing it. It will be loads more fun than wearing a mask and a way for me to remember all those fabrics.

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all are doing well today. I have been SO dang busy making masks! My arm is sore from all the iron lifting...LOL! At any rate, I thought I would share some images of a mask I designed over the weekend that has a really nice fit, and it is easy to sew. It is 2 layers of cotton with one layer of fusible interfacing. It could be designed with a pocket on the inside for adding a filter layer, or a mask that offers that protection could be used underneath and then the cloth mask is there to extend its life.

I plan on typing up the instructions and offering it as a FREE pattern on the website for you all! Please give me a couple of days to get to this...making masks for those in need is my first priority.

UPDATE! I was able to try this mask ON TOP of an N95 respirator. It covers it very nicely! I think it would be great to do that so the N95 can be used longer. A lot of hospitals are doing this now.
