Wedding gown shopping starts about 9 to 12 months before your wedding date, but when do you start the alterations process?

Typical Alterations Timeline:
- 9 to 12 months before : Chat with your seamstress to get gown shopping tips!
- 4 to 6 months before : Call to book your first fitting!
- 3 months before : First fitting & determine timing for additional fittings as required!
- 1 to 2 weeks before : Final fitting before your wedding to guarantee the perfect fit!
- Week Of : Pick up your gown!

The alterations process for each wedding gown will be a different journey based on your gown style and fabric, the alterations needed, or revamping desired. Plus if you’re working on your fitness and health goals, make sure to let your seamstress know as that will also change the timing of your fittings.

Hello, I am Sabrina Burke! As a client you won't be working with me, but you do see my work since I am the marketing + social media manager. Also, every once in a while I'm a design assistant / sounding board for new ideas or at styled shoots.

This design process and creation of the 'Sabrina' ensemble [gown, veil, hairpiece & jewelry] was a wonderful journey in and of itself, but also because it was for my daughter Sabrina. There are many sweet memories that were made as we worked together to bring the wedding gown and accessories of her dreams come to life!
