It was a busy summer for Lucky Lu, with time for a few quilts, bags, pillowcases and memorial bears. Dave has been making barn quilts and while we had plans for a Fall craft show it just didn’t work out for this year.

Not Your Grandma’s Apron: I made quite a few items in anticipation of entering a craft sale but it happened on the same day as an important life event so I’m offering these for sale for last minute gifts.

Japanese cross back aprons made from heavy 100% cotton or linen fabric used for pillows, etc. They are about 32 inches long. The blue are S/M and brown is L/XL but I think they adapt to most bodies well. I charge 25.00 each and ask you porch pick
up to save you postage.

These never get old. I donated this to my
lovely BNG and had several neighbors respond- and spun the wheel of names to pick a woman with a beautiful story behind this bear. While cutting the pocket off i noticed something wrapped in the pocket to find a neatly folded bill - a surprise to the young boy who received this. I love when the deceased leave surprises for us to discover.

it’s been a wonderful and productive Spring/Early Summer. a sneaky peak at a few of the projects that keep me busy in addition to watching my Grands a couple days a week, a vacation and thrifting, yard work and all the Summer goodness. i was recently commissioned to recreate a quilt from someone’s childhood from a small phone photo. it’s not completely done but gave me a chance to use my appliqué feature on my Viking Epic 980q. next on the cutting table is a Memory Bear i gifted in my BNG! Hope you’re enjoying the beautiful Michigan weather. remember if you can’t or don’t want to let ~Lucky Lu Designs~ sew for you 🥰

Lucky for me I am retiring in 3 weeks. In anticipation of getting up close and personal with my new Viking Epic 980 I’m making some baby items again. Trio of Soft flannel burp cloths; first try at Woodland Animal fabric pull and 60’ triangle quilt. NOT for the faint of heart or those who demand perfection in seams. This fabric is so soft

Making organic diaper inserts today with Robert Kaufman Flannel and 100 % bamboo double inserts. Saving our landfills one insert at a time. When all is done they will make great mop pads or dusting cloths!
