This post is to say that I'm taking a break from alterations until at least 2024, so I can focus on a few bigger projects that are on my plate. I'm not quitting, just booked full!

I'm waist deep in wedding work, literally!

Wedding season is upon us, and this is your friendly reminder that not just me, but most of your local seamstresses will be booked solid in no time- so get your dresses and suits well ahead of time, and schedule an appointment as soon as you can.

A month before your deadline can get pretty tight this time of year, and less than that doesn't leave much room if you need additional adjustments after the first fitting- so plan ahead and save yourself and your seamstress some stress

Hi folks!
Happy 2022, it's been a while, and what a busy while it's been!

Some business updates that are of interest-

- Yes I'm still doing sewing work, the lack of updates is mostly due to me being so blessed and busy with all your regular business and referrals that I haven't needed to be as active with social media advertising and upkeep, so thank you!

- I've hired a part-time assistant, a talented seamstress who works in costuming normally, and is stepping in regularly to help me with some admin and sewing work- especially during busy times.

- We've put in work to make an updated pricing list, for easier and faster quotes, and reflecting the aggregated data from my billing more accurately- so check in if you're curious about cost, we're happy to send some numbers over!

- I've also put some thought into what sewing work it makes sense for me and my teammate to be doing right now, and for the time being I'll be taking on fewer full-on custom garments and more routine alterations/customizations and smaller projects. We both love making custom garments, and maybe I'll open up availability again in the future, but especially as we get into a rhythm together and begin to specialize and hone our skills on other things, it makes sense to narrow our focus.

Thank you all so much for being delightful to work with, I'm excited to introduce Allison to more of my clientele (I've been bragging you up) and I'm excited for another beautiful year of being in the sewing business!

Hey all,
We're clearing out our stock of masks, when they're gone they're gone! We have some lovely solids as well as a variety of prints, with a few more extras going up Friday as other things sell out.

More cats, llamas, science, turtles, trash pandas.

Things have been hectic this last week, working to put together a plan, team, proposal, and systems to work with the county on a huge mask project, but we did have some time in-between things to sew up some masks and get ahead before the deluge.

Hi Sewing friends, I'm putting out feelers for local (GR but also across Michigan is fine) seamstresses that would be willing to make masks (paid work). A friend of mine is working with a local commissioner to order masks for multiple companies and organizations, and the numbers they'll need is staggering. If you would be willing to make some please contact me!

Details are sparse right now, as they're in the planning phase of "can we even do this", but the number that was floated earlier was 10,000. Because of this volume, I would ask that you would be willing to make masks in the over-100-count range or more so that we aren't dealing with an overwhelming amount of admin from hiring 1000+ seamstresses.

It's new merch Monday!
Cute earbuds snap pouches, a couple soft sunglasses holders, coordinating wash bags for our reusable cotton squares, and new summery and fun prints for masks- including this cheery trio of cats! With 5 more cat prints on the way, keep a lookout as we post updates :)

Mask work is slowing down, so we've been working on more things for the Etsy store!

I've been collecting fabric for 20 years, and am happily culling my stash by using up some odds and ends- take a look at these cute reclaimed upholstery handbags, they're made of outdated upholstery samples that I scooped up, along with a few remnants from other folks' stashes that I've been gifted over the years.

Each one is unique, has a zipper closure, and anything that's lighter weight is lined for durability. Sizes and prices vary, but they start at $15.

As I work through my totes of fabrics expect to see a few more added here and there!
