Heyy! Just wanted to pop on and say hi. Two months into the new year and my goal of sharing more on here has been a flop. Oops. Here's a little recap of what I've been up to...

I'm still wearing Nico's almost daily & growing out my bangs (again 🫠). Working on my new dress pattern. And still tinkering around with a pants pattern I'm super excited about. I started a "sewing with knits" guide I thought may be helpful for people new to knits. Always listening to books and music. Added length to the Olga sweater I finished knitting the end of last year. So glad I took the time to do it because I know I'll wear it so much more now. My husband and I closed on a commercial property in town and started renovations. Celebrated my birthday and Lunar New year with friends. Still working on pullups... Over a year in and I can finally do TWO(!), so hard. And spent time in Montreal with my family and new friends, oui!

I'd love to hear from you... tell me what's new? what project are you working on and excited about? Any book or music recommendations?

2025 Year in Review

What a year it’s been. There’s always more I wish I’d accomplished, but looking back, I’m reminded of just how much did get done.

✨ THE HIGHLIGHTS ✨

- Sold 1,239 sewing patterns

- Released the Nico Pullover in March

- Released the Oswald Jumper in August

- Released the Spero Skirt in November

- Raised $3,602 for families in Gaza — all from pattern sales 💛

- Published my first video tutorial (with more coming in 2026!)

- Traveled a lot this year, which felt like such a gift. I always come home inspired.

- Participated in three pattern tests for other indie designers

- Worked with over 100 incredible people during my own pattern tests. These patterns truly wouldn’t be what they are without their generosity, feedback, and conversations. Connecting with real humans is one of my favorite parts of designing.

- Finally did a deep dive into sewing with knits — something that used to intimidate me. I learned so much and ended up releasing two knit patterns. I hope they encourage others to give knits a try; they’re not as scary as they seem!

- Finished many personal projects outside of Summer Haus, which can feel hard to prioritize. I sewed and knit for myself, and made quite a bit for friends and family too.

And a few bummers:

- I only completed one natural dye project this year. It’s something I love deeply but didn’t make enough space for — something I hope to change in the coming year.

- My dye garden was a bit of a heartbreak. A very determined gopher wiped out most of my plants, which definitely contributed to dyeing taking a back seat this year.

All in all, a year full of learning, growth, gratitude, and a few lessons I’ll be carrying into 2026.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement along the way.

Cheers!

Ok, whoa! Thanks for every like, share and purchase during the first week of the fundraiser.

While if feels like what we have to offer is a drop of rain in an ocean compared to what's needed, I have to believe this will bring a sliver of light to the families support while they are living through the unimaginable.

We have even more amazing patternmakers and shops joining this week. Check out each individual shop to learn more about how they'll be donating to .

Thanks for organizing this

Holy smokes! Y'all are amazing ... My little pattern shop alone has raised $2206 and I know and the others participating are on fire too 🔥

First, I want to say thank you! For all the purchases, like and shares.

We have TWO DAYS left of the fundraiser and I'm hoping to raise $3000 by the end of tomorrow.

Help spread the word! If you've been considering purchasing any of my patterns hop onto my website and grab one.

All sales will be donated to on Monday morning. They're in contact with nine families living in Gaza and get updates often... The funds we raise will go directly to these families. If you haven't already you can jump on their profile and actually follow these families yourself. It's heartbreaking and eye opening and makes me wish I could do so much more.

Check out these other pattern shops who are also participating:

Grab a pattern you've been wanting to sew up and please spread the word! 😘

Alright, had to repost this because I had spelling errors all over, including my discount code 😖🫠 because I do silly stuff like that all the time. So here we are.

Give this a share and a like to continue spreading the word!

TOTAL RAISED SO FAR: $1,200 (I'll try to keep this updated)

This week and I are donating all of our pattern sales to and holy sh*t ... I'm blown away by the support thus far by this sewing community.

If you aren't following give them a follow and scroll through their "friends of Gaza" highlight. There you will find specific individuals and families who they've developed relationships with and are in contact with and that's who we are helping. Real people, hurting.

If you've had your eye on any of my patterns now is a great time to grab one, you can use code PATTERNSFORPALESTINE for 20% off.

If you're not a sewer or have more to give you can donate directly to .

And at the very least, a like or share here goes a long way!

there's a handful of one of a kind vintage quilt patch sweatshirts available in the shop!

if you're a maker yourself I highly recommend making yourself one of these. vintage quilt patches can almost always be found at antique stores or eBay.

find yourself a sweatshirt at the thrift store, they're always perfectly worn and soft and I personally prefer them over brand new ones.

depending on the shape of your patch there's a few ways they can be sewn on. if you need help feel free to message me and I'd be happy to help!

West Michigan makers.. we're hosting a fabric/yarn swap November 22nd in Grand Rapids and we'd love to see you there!

Bring something, take something and meet other makers.

It's the perfect time to clear your stash of all the fabric or yarn that's been collecting dust and send it off to someone else to use. Hopefully while you're there you'll find something that you find inspiring and could use for your next project! (Buttons and zippers also welcome!)

We'll have soft beverages and tasty treats graciously provided by .

Come hang with us! ✨
