Just a couple of geeky grandmas, Barb and Malena
How did we ever end up in business? One day we decide we absolutely needed some comic-covered tennies shoes, because who doesn't need those when attending a ComicCon? We experimented on shoes for the grandkids, using Tinker Bell and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fabrics. We posted pics of our finished shoes and immediately got noticed. We were astoni
shed at the response, and decided, why not? Why not go into business? We came up with the name, Geeky G's for the two geeky grandmas making the shoes. We started making custom tennis shoes for friends and family. We branched out to comic-themed headbands and fandom clips and decided to try our hand at ball caps. Well, the comic-covered caps ended up being a big hit. We had the feet covered and the head covered - how about shirts? We matched some great geeky fabric with work shirts and people loved those too, as a great alternative to the usual fandom t-shirts. We then hosted a vendors booth at our first ComicCon in December 2015, and had a blast! Now we're up and running with a whole shop of clothing and accessories for popular fandoms, and some we've never heard of. We're still branching out, with regular requests - or challenges - to see how far we can take our creations. From comic books, to Doctor Who and Sherlock, to Jurassic Park and anime, we hope to touch our customers' hearts, with their favorite fandoms. We're a couple of crafty ladies, with grandkids who love pop-culture, attending ComicCon and creating cosplays. Somehow putting that all together put us in business.
