Original 1916 Nickel Plate Railroad leatherbound book of rates for shipping sacked or baled wool "in grease," or wool which has not yet been cleaned or "scoured."

The book measures 6¼" x 4" and has a leather cover with gilt embossed lettering: New York, Chicago & St. Louis R.R., "Nickel Plate Railroad" — Traders Despatch / Lackawanna Line / Nickel Plate Line / Interstate Despatch.

There are 33 pages of printed rates "per 100 pounds" to Boston and Philadelphia from hundreds of specific locations in the American West, via various lines.

The remainder of the book consists of ruled pages for notes and calculations by the NKP freight agent.

Two dozen or so of the pages have pencil writing and numbers of bags and bales, dates, etc. The balance of the ruled pages have no marks or writing.

This spectacular town plan was published by Braun & Hogenberg, Cologne, in their "Atlas Civitates Orbis Terrarum," circa 1595.

The image area measures 35 x 43.6 cm [13¾" x 17¼"] on a double-folio sheet, with generous margins on all sides.

The title is contained with a decorative cartouche: "Namurcum, Elegantissima Ad Mosae Flume Civitas," and three figures are drawn in the foreground. Original hand color.
