As Father’s Day approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about my Poppie and what he’d be like if he was here today.
My grandfather went to Heaven in 2003, but his impact on my life is still felt every single day. It’s amazing how many memories you can make with a person in 4 short years. In fact, many of you may not know that Poppy & Co. was named after him.
“Poppie” was what I called him growing up, and when it came time to name my boutique, I wanted it to be more than just a business name. I wanted it to carry a piece of someone who meant so much to me. What started as a way to honor him has become a daily reminder of the love, kindness, and memories he left behind.
Grief has a funny way of changing over the years. The pain softens, but the love never fades. Some days I wish I could tell him about all that’s happened since 2003—the business, the milestones, the challenges, and the blessings. But I find comfort knowing that while he’s no longer here on earth, his legacy lives on.
This Father’s Day, I’d love to honor all the dads, grandpas, father figures, and men who have shaped our lives, whether they’re here with us or celebrating in Heaven.
