📅 Mark your calendars! August and September are packed with reasons to spend your Saturday mornings at the Heart of Rushville Farmers & Artisans Market. Here's what's coming up:

🌽 August 8 – Sweet Corn Day
What better way to wrap up National Farmers Market Week than with Souder's Sweet Corn! Beginning at 10 a.m., Kappa Kappa Sigma will be serving up hot, buttery corn on the cob featuring one of Rush County's favorite local growers. Come hungry! Oh, and they're baaaack! 🐐 Don't miss some four-legged friends from Minglewood Goat Farms that will be joining in on the fun.

🐝 August 15 – National Honey Bee Day
Bee curious! Stop by Opie's Bees to peek inside a live observation hive and learn about these fascinating creatures. Plus, sample free honey cookies, party mix, honey candy, and their brand-new honey lemonade. It's a sweet day you won't want to miss!

🎨 August 22 – Art at the Market: Still Lifes
See the market through an artist's eyes! Imagine:nation, the arts & cultural council of Rush County will host a fun still life workshop beginning at 10 a.m. for artists of all ages using the colors, textures, and beauty of the market as inspiration.

🌱 August 29 – Little Sprouts Send-Off
Our Little Sprouts season comes to a close, and we're sending this year's class off with a few surprises and plenty of farm fun as we "Celebrate the Farmers Market."

🎶 September 5 – Sip & Sit Market Social
Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to slow down. Shop the market, then grab a drink, a snack, and a seat. Catch up with friends, make a few new ones, and enjoy live music by the First Baptist Church Praise Team. We'll have board games, jigsaw puzzles, and other entertainment around the market so bring your friends and family to have some fun.

🐶 September 12 – Market Mutt Strut & Art Show
One of our favorite Saturdays of the year! Get ready for funny furballs, delightful dogs, and plenty of tail wags as our four-legged friends take the catwalk. Bring your perfect pooch to compete for some pretty "fetch" prizes during the Market Mutt Strut dog show. Registration (free) begins at 9:30 a.m., the show starts at 10 a.m., and Imagine:nation, the arts & cultural council of Rush County will be showcasing pet-inspired art throughout the morning.

🎉 September 19 – RushFest/Willkie Days
RushFest is taking over downtown, and we're joining the celebration! Be sure to include the market in your plans—we'll have extended hours until 3 p.m.

🧺 September 26 – Farmers Market Farewell
One last chance to shop your favorite vendors before we close out another wonderful market season. Stock up, say hello, and help us end the season on a high note.

🎵 Markets are even better with live music. We're excited to welcome an outstanding lineup of local musicians, adding the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday morning. Kit Haymond, Buck Rogers Jr., Josh Smith and more!

I wrestled with the calling to write books to help others. In the midst of my hardest trial I knew that one day God would ask me to tell my story. I spent years fighting the call with excuses. I’m not good enough. No one wants to read what I have to say. But after the continued push from God and the not always so gentle nudge from my family, I finally stopped and just let God give me the words. I may never know who is touched by my stories but I had to lay down the excuses and fear and trust that God would use me for good. As I write my second book I still wrestle with those negative voices but I will continue to write and trust God to take it from there!

Approximately 60% of adults in the United States suffer from a chronic illness. As a Christian living with this condition, it can feel impossible to find peace.
