We've all heard this one - but it's actually not true! While sitting very close to a screen may cause eye strain or headaches, it doesn't cause permanent eye damage. However, if a child consistently wants to sit very close to the TV, it could be a sign of nearsightedness.

That's why regular eye exams are so important - especially for kids! 👧👦

🕶️ Polarized or non-polarized? It's one of the most common questions we get - and the answer matters more than you might think!

✅ POLARIZED lenses reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water, roads, and snow - perfect for driving, fishing, or hitting the slopes.

⚠️ NON-POLARIZED lenses offer UV protection without glare reduction - great for general use and some digital screen situations.

Not sure which is right for you? Our optical team is here to help you find the perfect pair for your lifestyle.

☀️ Summer is amazing - but dry, itchy eyes? Not so much.

Hot weather, air conditioning, increased screen time, and spending time outdoors can all contribute to dry eye symptoms during the summer months. Signs include redness, a gritty or burning sensation, blurry vision, and even excessive tearing.

The good news: dry eye is very treatable! Our team can help you find the right solution - from prescription drops to lifestyle adjustments - so you can enjoy summer without the discomfort. 👁️💧

🏊‍♀️ Thinking about swimming with your contacts?

Wearing contact lenses in the pool, lake, or ocean can put your eyes at serious risk.

⚠️ Here’s why:
💧 Water can carry bacteria and harmful microorganisms
🦠 Increased risk of eye infections (including serious ones)
👁️ Contacts can trap contaminants against your eye
😣 Can cause irritation, redness, or even vision issues

✔ Safer options:
🕶️ Wear prescription goggles
👓 Stick to glasses poolside
🗑️ If you must wear contacts, use daily disposables and discard immediately after swimming

Protect your eyes so you can enjoy the water worry-free! 💚

Got sunscreen in your eyes? Here’s what to do:

It happens, but don’t panic! Follow these quick steps to protect your eyes and ease the irritation:

💧 Rinse immediately with clean water or saline
👋 Avoid rubbing (it can make irritation worse)
👁️ Blink gently to help flush it out
🧴 Remove contact lenses if you’re wearing them

⏳ If redness, pain, or blurry vision continues, it’s best to see your eye doctor.

☀️ Pro tip: Use sunscreen sticks or mineral formulas around your eyes to help prevent it in the future!
