Congrats to the class of 2026. When you understand the assignment at hand is a charcuterie open house…you get a team and make it happen. Some people think in pictures…it’s me I am that person…and then you have people that make that vision come to life…that’s a team effort a lot of times. Sometimes it’s my mom, sometimes it’s Josh, sometimes it’s Bill…but they all pick up my scabby drawings and they figure it out.

I’ve taken a little step back from design and spent sometime getting into more things holistic. Father’s Day of 2024 was a bit life changing to say the least. I’ve been on the road for answers since, with very little received. I was diagnosed in November with an autoimmune thyroid disease, but they still don’t know what the lumps are in my legs or why my bloodwork is all over the place. I had a horrible reaction to the thyroid meds they put me on so I said nope let’s do this the natural way…and that’s how it began.

There are beneficial plants all around us and we don’t even know it! Dandelions and wild violets for example! There is more vitamins in danelions than any food we can consume! So creativity has gone in a little different direction for me, but I still do the things I’ve always done as well. I just decided I am going to showcase a little bit of it all here now.

So be it artsy or repurposing or holistic I will show it all. And if you see something that peaks your interest reach out!

When we first walked into 112 it was an ugly gutted mess…there was a lot of ugly that needed to be hidden. Behind the faux barn doors are windows that go nowhere. The faux gables are covering up some old no longer used vents, and the wood is covering up just some straight up ugliness. This building has made a huge transformation and I’m so glad I got to be a part of that. And a huge shoutout to Josh who is not a builder by trade but does an awesome job taking my idea and horrible drawings and building them!

This piece probably holds more meaning to my mom than anybody realizes. The wood was the old wood floor from Huckleberry’s a place she worked for 14 years. When they closed she took time to figure out what she wanted to do, that’s when Davide approached us and The Unique Nook was born. The letters were one of the first things we bought when we opened our first little shop. This sign blends a lot of things that mean a lot to my mom.

For those that don’t know sometimes I get this wild idea…and I run with it. I wish I would have taken before pictures because this bathroom was ugly to say the least! The transformation is unbelievable. And the feedback and responses from people who have seen it in person..well they are humbling. All of this stemmed from my “old lady” love of peony flowers. Let me know what you think.
