(502)

Premium performance, durable frames, and clear polarized lenses without the big-brand markup. I started Ocean Racing® to provide sailors, power boaters and anyone who just likes being around the water with great polarized sunglasses at reasonable prices. Our FB page is just a bit of fun however where we post some great sailing videos. Our sunglasses are made in the same factories as the famous bra

nds using the finest materials. Our polarized lenses are unmatched for sharpness, feature broad spectrum UV protection, hydrophobic and anti-scratch coatings. Independent. Our disruptive, direct-to-consumer business model eliminates the unnecessary markups of the retail distribution system that’s owned by one gigantic company. We offer the same quality as the big brands but at realistic prices. Authentic. Whether it's a lazy day on the lake or a tough ocean race with salt spray flying in your face, Ocean Racing® sunglasses will always offer unbeatable performance at affordable prices. Ed Kriese

Her boat had flipped upside down in the Southern Ocean, 1,900 miles from Cape Horn, and Isabelle Autissier was sealed inside the dark hull with no way to call anyone. Her emergency beacon still worked.

The nearest human being was a rival — Italian skipper Giovanni Soldini, racing her around the world. He turned northeast and sailed 200 miles through the same seas that had wrecked her. When he found the overturned hull, he circled it, grabbed a hammer, and BANGED on the fiberglass.

A hatch opened. Autissier climbed out, jumped into the freezing water, and swam to his boat. Soldini pulled her aboard, gave her dry clothes — and then went on to win the race.

The French government later gave him the Légion d'honneur. Autissier's summary was simpler: "Giovanni is my brother now."
