💊 Truth is…

Some people will paint you wrong just to make their feelings look right.

A lie needs listeners, and resentment feels more righteous when it has company. (READ THAT TWICE)

As the listener👂🏾🤚🏾, you have to ask yourself “does what I see and what they say line up? 🤔”

As the person being painted🎨, you have to protect your peace by remembering that their portrait is only a reflection of their perspective…not your identity.

🗣️🤚🏾 Don’t use someone else’s canvas as your mirror.

This is one bill that you can’t walk out on. It may have seemed like it wouldn’t come with a consequence at the time, but every word, every whisper, every cut corner, and action gets added to the tab.

It may come in the form of debt, or a hit to your health. It may come as depression, or a missed opportunity, but karma accepts all forms of payment.

People don’t just “become” lazy. They become detached…or confused…or misunderstood…or hopeless.

You’ll feel that nobody will care anyhow…or feel that avoiding it will make it go away…or feel that the pressure is too much to address right now.

When people go quiet, listen closely. Silence can speak volumes.

There’s a lot going on behind them four walls…an entire story that you haven’t read. Before judging someone’s disposition, remember that what people show the world is rarely the full picture.

There’s no price tag on kindness…and it just might be the exact medicine that somebody needed today.

Some people will silently trade their own comfort, peace, and energy just to help keep some of the weight off of your back. Sinking in the sand themselves, but still giving every last bit of power in their reserve to help keep you going.

They don’t ask for anything in return, but they simply understand how it feels to walk alone, and don’t want you to have to experience that same struggle.

Just because a specific remedy, mindset, or path worked for someone else, it doesn’t mean that it will address what is missing in you. Experience will always teach you more than someone else’s opinion ever could.

When you blindly follow what was “taught” to you, you end up living to satisfy their expectations instead of solving your own needs.

Theres nothing wrong with gaining wisdom, but move according to your own diagnosis.

It’s hard to feel like you’re making progress when the other people in the car are just cool with cruising…That frustration isn’t confusion…it’s clarity telling you that it’s time to switch cars.

You can’t reach your destination if you’re letting people without a GPS steer your time.

When you’re feeling stuck, you’re rarely trapped by the circumstance itself…you’re trapped by the story you’re telling yourself about it.

Instead of waiting for the wall to move, try shifting your perspective, picking up the brush, and start creating a new picture.
