Thank you so much for coming to spend time with us and meet our sweet crazy animals. God is so good and changed my life when He sat us beside each other at BBR Worlds. I feel the same about you. I remember asking you if you would be willing to mentor an older woman lol in business. You looked at me without hesitation and said yes. You have been doing that ever since not only in business but in life. You have helped us in more ways than you will ever know. I truly do not have the words to express how grateful I am and our friendship. God is so good. ♥️♥️
Long post incoming...
To most people, this picture just looks like me standing in a field with a horse. But to me, it represents so much more.
Our first trip to OKC was last year for the BBR Finals. It was just Mom and me, and it was the longest haul we had ever made. I was convinced it was going to be a huge event for Rocket Donkey. I had built it up in my head, and honestly... it wasn't what I expected. We had driven 16 hours, and when it was all said and done, I left feeling defeated because sales were just okay.
Looking back now, I realize that trip was never about the revenue.
Mom and I had the privilege of meeting Kelly Jennings, the founder of Kelly Farms, whose booth was right beside ours. At the time, Kelly was in a season of transition and was simply looking for a little encouragement. We instantly clicked and stayed in touch long after the event ended.
For the longest time, I thought God had sent us to Kelly so we could encourage her. But now I realize I had it backwards.
God sent us to Kelly because we needed her.
She has become one of the most intentional, encouraging, and genuine friends we could have ever asked for. She is the kind of person who celebrates your wins, speaks life into you when you're struggling, and reminds you to keep going when you feel like giving up. If you don't have a Kelly in your life, I hope you find one.
Fast forward to this year, and God blessed us with an incredible BBR Finals. We had a fantastic show, and I couldn't be more thankful for everyone who stopped by and supported Rocket Donkey. But even with all the success this year, one of the biggest highlights wasn't the booth, it was getting to spend time with Kelly.
Today, we had the opportunity to visit Kelly Farms, and it was one of those moments that made me stop and reflect on just how faithful God has been. What started as two vendors set up beside each other at a barrel race has turned into a friendship that I know will last a lifetime.
Knowing that every time we come to Oklahoma we have a place to call home means more than I can put into words. That kind of hospitality, love, and friendship is something you can't buy.
And just like the heart she pours into people, she pours that same intentionality into every piece she designs. Her clothing isn't just beautiful, it tells a story, and it's made with purpose.
It's funny how God works. I thought that 16-hour drive was about selling clothes. Instead, it was about gaining a lifelong friend.
Sometimes the biggest blessings aren't found in the numbers or the sales, they're found in the people God places in your path. 🤍
