Fixed my friend’s NBA Knicks Brunson Jersey recently for the start of the playoffs. Although it’s an official NBA jersey, they now use glue to put the lettering on the jersey. It started peeling off after 6 months. So I stitched it on. I personally think it looks better.

This Minnie mouse costume was made for Olivia for her birthday a few years ago, which happens ro be today…happy birthday Olivia!

Her parents and wanted this costume made for Olivia, for her to wear for her first trip to Disney World on Halloween.

Mariana designed the costume from several different costumes she saw online. She provided us with the pictures, and we made hat, bow and cute shorts.

What a creative birthday present from such great parents!

It’s been very cold outside lately. That time of the year to bundle up and stay warm. However, it’s hard to do that when your coat zipper is splitting apart from the bottom.

I just changed the zipper on this down jacket for my friend from a two way to a one way zipper. And I put the Canada Goose logo back on the zipper. I can change the whole zipper or just the slider if necessary.

This is a favor I just did for a long time client. I had to repair an amber stone necklace she bought 15-20 years ago when she was a junior college professor teaching in the south.

The cord snapped in different places, so I had to restring the whole necklace using an unbreakable nylon thread and add new beading to separate each stone.

I am not by any means an expert in jewelry. This is actually my first time doing it. I was surprised by her request, but she said I’m good with my hands. I guess she’s right!

A client recently came to me with a request to turn a set of bandanas her husband bought to use as face covers, into a set of face masks. She wanted medium for herself and small for her college bound daughter.

I also took this opportunity to play around with a photo light box that I Just bought at B&H to get some practice at doing product photography. This is my first shoot using the box.

I passed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art to catch the final showing of a fashion exhibition of high end couture pieces called In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection.

Mrs. Schrier amassed a collection of over 15,000 pieces of vintage high end designer clothes, a lot of which was owned and worn by the rich and famous. Actresses, heiresses, super models, and the like. Not only are the women who used to wear these clothes were famous, but so were the designers who made them: Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Dior, Ives Saint Laurent, Gabriel “Coco” Chanel.

That’s what made this show interesting and different from other exhibits the Met Costume Institute puts on. Instead of having a theme or focusing on one designer, there was a diverse selection of greatest ateliers of all time along with different time periods and places. I got a lot of inspiration and ideas for future works of couture I will craft and share with you in the near future.

Now that we are entering fall, life is slowly heading back to normal. As more places open up and more and events are being held, why not match your mask to your ensemble?

One of my clients is attending her grand daughter’s wedding. After shortening the hem on her skirt, I made a mask from the leftover fabric to match the skirt and blouse outfit she is wearing for the big day.

Contact me if you need a custom mask and have extra material from a previous alteration or if you still need to shorten a dress.
