“KUTABARE” roughly translating to “f*ck you” or “go to hell” was a phrase that was used amongst peers through my early car days. It was more than edgy; it was defiant, loud, and unapologetically ours. The homie even made custom tees with it. That saying stuck with me ever since.
I’ve never seen the word really used in fashion the way it should be. Until now.
This hat blends the raw attitude of the phrase with the elegance of Japanese text flow. The imperial symbol with ALOWHA texting ties it all together as a honor to both Japan and Hawai‘i. If you’re from the islands, you already know: Japanese and Asian influence is part of daily life. From taking off shoes at the door to the visual language we grow up around.
The design gives you that Murakami-esque flower vibe, without forcing it. Bright pink silk inner with a over deep brown shell. Loud yet soft, bold yet wearable.
