In 1994, J. Bernard Dixon, otherwise known as Moby, had a vision and after many years of perfecting his craft, he stepped out on faith and purchased The business. It has been thriving ever since. People would come in for excellent repair work, low prices and great conversation. Even though Moby has passed, the tradition is still same. Mercury Shoe repair has had several employees and has mentored and trained young adults and adults. The business has supported many organizations and they also believe in promoting other businesses by allowing them to leave cards and flyers for their many customers to see.

Tonight, The Smithfield Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. has presented the owners of Mercury Shoe Repair with a "Service to the Community Award." It's wonderful to know that all of Uncle Bernard's vision and hard work has received the recognition that it deserves.

When you go in for repair work or conversation, give the guys a congratulations on their new award.
