🔷👑 King Ludwig II – The Fairy Tale King of Bavaria 👑🔷

This month marks 140 years since the passing of King Ludwig II of Bavaria – one of the most fascinating and mysterious figures in German history.

Known as the “Fairy Tale King,” Ludwig II dreamed of a world of beauty, art, and imagination. He became famous for his extraordinary castles that still define Bavaria today:

🏰 Neuschwanstein Castle – the inspiration for Disney’s castle
🏰 Linderhof Palace – his intimate royal retreat
🏰 Herrenchiemsee – his grand vision of Versailles on a Bavarian island

Though his reign was marked by financial struggles and political tension, Ludwig’s legacy lives on through these breathtaking monuments and his deep devotion to art, music, and romantic idealism.

On June 13, 1886, his life came to a tragic and still-mysterious end at Lake Starnberg, bringing an end to Bavaria’s monarchy era as he was declared unfit to rule shortly before his death.

Today, over a century later, King Ludwig II remains a symbol of imagination, beauty, and the enduring magic of Bavaria. ✨💙
