Got a snap that won’t stay snapped?

I was able to remove the riveted snap from these shorts, reinforce the fabric, and then stitch on a hook-and-eye for a secure closure. I was even able to leave the head of the snap for a decorative finish.

If the snap head wasn’t able to stay attached, I would have added a non-functional button to the outside flap.

My client picked up her gown from alterations with a way too big bodice, and the neckline was loose and off-the-shoulder...

My client picked up her gown from alterations with a way too big bodice, and the neckline was loose and off-the-shoulder. At the dress shop when she purchased it, she had been styled in it as on-the-shoulder, which she preferred.

I was able to take in the bodice and adjust the flap to make the dress on-the-shoulder, and much more secure on her body.

She’s ready to dance the night away at the wedding next weekend!

When was the last time your machine was serviced? If it’s been a year or more (even less if you sew a lot), it’s probably time!
