Today I went on my son’s field trip, and I didn’t have to ask anyone for the day off!

Definitely one of the best perks of being my own boss.

When I left nursing to run River Trail Threads full-time, having more flexibility with my kids was a big part of that decision.

Now, does owning a business mean I have all this extra free time? HA. If anything, I probably work more hours now than I ever did before. 😂

But I get to decide when those hours happen.

Sometimes I’m sewing until midnight or catching up on orders over the weekend. But it also means I can say yes to field trips, classroom parties, and the random things that pop up when you have three kids.

Running a business definitely has its challenges, but getting to build my work around my family instead of the other way around is pretty hard to beat 🙌
